Since you believe in majority rule, I'll ask again:
The majority of American voters wanted neither Gore nor either Clinton - that is, neither Bill nor Hillary - as President.
    Why should they have won?

Not voting removes your right to have a say in policy. They should make it like AU, if you don't vote you get a fine. They have never fallen below 90% voter turn out since the law passed. Considering how hard people had to work to earn the right to vote, if you don't vote and your not a land owning white male, then its a slap in the face to your ancestors who fought and died on the streets of the US to give you that vote.

In the case of Bill Clinton, he never won a majority of the popular votes for President--neither in 1992 or 1996. (he won a plurality, but not majority). Admittedly he handily won the real election--the Electoral college by a majority, but you guys don't like the electoral college. Do you think, then that Bill Clinton was an illegitimate President? Definite case of minority ruling.....

Since Bill's admin was before your time--look up his election results.

Interesting that a self-proclaimed intelligent, educated man of the world - so much so that you think you should judge who should and should not have the right to vote - is forced to avoid a simple question.

    I'll ask again:

Since you believe in majority rule...
The majority of American voters wanted neither Gore nor either Clinton - that is, neither Bill nor Hillary - as President.
    Why should they have won?

Well according to election laws congress picks the winner. 1 point per state which means he would win.

These spoiler canidates need to GTHO until we solve the electoral college issue. But yeah he won plurality which is better and more fair then losing handedly and getting elected.

Apparently your education did not cover election law.
    Good luck amending the constitution.

    Why should they have won?

Not sure what you mean by this.

Gore and both Clintons got more votes than the other candidate in their elections.
If you mean more than 50%, that accomplishment goes to very few presidents....

Only Obama, Reagan, Eisenhower and Roosevelt since 1900.

The interesting view of democracy is that tyranny of the majority is more preferable to tyranny of a minority, what a concept.

Funny, how out the other side of your mouth you'll whine about the minority ruling over the majority.
Funny how when it suits you, its OK for the minority to win out.

The person I asked believes the majority should win out over the minority.
Except when it suits him otherwise, of course.
And yet, the majority of the people did not want them as President.
    Better check that again.

I'll give you leftists a caveat, the electoral college is an interesting concept where heads of state have more sway in deciding the outcomes of elections than common people do from the population.

There is no such thing as direct democracy in the United States that I'm aware of.

You'll also note that no western democracy has a popular election for their head of government.

In terms of deciding who won the election, tell us why the popular vote matters.
And thus, your lie to yourself.

Because, the US is a LEFT leaning populous who due to under populated middle states, have been able to steal the presidency, senate, gerrymander the house and take over the supreme court, holding this country far right.

Also Trump wanted the electoral college abolished when he thought Obama lost the popular vote.

My bad. I was looking at an article for presidents who won over 50% in both their elections.

    Ah.
You fully understand the popular vote does not in any way shape or form matter in determining the winner of a Presidential election.
    Good.
Why then do you keep lying to yourself about the significance Hillary having 3 million more votes that Trump?

It didn't change during that time, though. What was he supposed to do? He had no authority to change it while he was a private citizen. He had to play by the rules of the game. What would his other choice have been? It would have been stupid to attempt to win the popular vote, since that is not how the game is played.

Why would basketball teams try to score more points than the other team if the outcome was determined by popularity (number of fans at the game?)

    :)
1965-2007, only ONE Democrat won a majority of the popular vote in a Presidential election:
    Jimmy Carter
