without background checks, we have no idea if a gun buyer is law abiding.

oh, right, we can simply ask them "are you a murderer or rapist?" and if they say no, we just sell them the gun.

    LOL!!!!

then lets limit background check to just if people are American citizens and not currently serving a sentence for a crime....

the abuse of the constitution is what people do not want, we can have both

but really, a criminal can steal or buy a gun other ways, so that really only effects law abiding citizens anyways

maybe we could have background checks for buying religious books too

With unenforceable background checks, guns will still fall into the hands of criminals. The key to background checks is to make them enforceable by requiring registration...... good luck with that.

With BCs you still don't know if the guy will commit a future crime or straw purchase.

A confessed gun owner does not want to write a letter of recommendation for a student, after the student admits to being a gun owner, hypocrisy at its finest.

It says much for not being a Blabbermouth and keeping private matters to ones self, keeping ones mouth closed is often a good policy.

True, but it's often useful for flushing out bigoted liberals. I've made it a point in my life to challenge them on their fascist viewpoints.
