You didn't address this to me, but I'm going to respond. I didn't know that until you posted it, and I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're right. My conclusion that the plane was jacked has nothing to do with the pilot's name, which I didn't know, but rather is based on the evidence available to me. Now, the evidence available to me may not be accurate. In which my conclusions are likely not. But I'm going on that, for now, unless and until other information comes to light.
> post 9/11 world. (*)(*)(*)(*), even pre 9/11 world > Large unidentified aircraft enters US airspace > Does not respond to multiple inquiries > Is headed towards large metropolitan area > Jets get scrambled to intercept within 30 minutes > Aircraft is clearly identified as the one that disappeared several weeks/months ago > Boom boom. That sucker isn't even going to make it close to its destination - - - Updated - - - If that was true there would be wreckage found all over the place. Planes don't go down nice when they get hit by rockets, especially if their passenger ones being flown by non airforce vets.
Sure, if they just fly in, not in the system, absolutely. But getting into the system, getting a cleared flight plan, is quite easy. I'm not going to post how, but I've already thought of several scenarios where it would be easy. (I'm a pilot, and understand the system. Not professional, private, but still, not hard if you understand the system.)
I think were going to need a little bit of lowdown on this supposedly systemic system failure situation.
Sounds possible. On the news they showed a tiny island in that part of the world that has a landing strip for planes, but.......?? Since the passengers cell phones are still ringing, m/b a glimmer of hope.....
Well, it wasn't Hollywood that had a terrorist board a plane, with a bomb shoved in his pants and when it went off, it fried his nuts.... it actually happened. Now they've become more 'sophisticated'.... if it's terrorists and it's a good possibility.
If this wasn't so puzzling and to an extent, scary - seeing how an airliner can totally disappear into thin air, not to mention how frightened the families of these 239 passengers must be...... then I would laugh.
The families of the passengers are calling the cell phones all the time and they're ringing. They said if the airplane was under water, the phones wouldn't ring.....
I worked at a call company for bell. I know what I am talking about. cThe ring ring ring is just meant to keep you on the line while the network is trying to locate the person youre callimg. It means squat. If you want to remain ignorant, fine. But if not you can always google it.
I have heard what she is saying on CNN multiple times i believe last by Don Lemon ( last i heard it i mean). If you have an issue take it up with them unless you like calling other posters ignorant for no reason.
A lot of people have no clue about cellphone networks other than how to dial or text. This has been debunked on cbc, bbc, aljazeera all ready. Yes they've heard ringing. No it doesn't mean a damn thing. It has been explained multiple times.
Look, cd, let's not get your bloomers all tied up in a knot. It was aviation people I was listening to who said this. I assume they knew what they were talking about.... not to mention that technology over in that part of the world would probably be different from ours. Just a guess...... google it yourself. Good nite.
I'm with you on this one. Iran would be the supplier but how could that be given our tough position on Iran????? Depressurize the cabin and the passengers can't breathe. A 777 has good range this is very frightening
an airline expert im not. but why in the hell do they have transponders in the cockpit??? its the first thing hijackers switch off. seems to me it should be moved to some place inaccessible like back where the black box's are.
1- Transponders are not like a VIN insofar as they're not unique to an aircraft. Every flight is assigned a unique code which must be manually set by the pilots. 2- Transponders active on the ground in an area of heavy traffic (think JFK) could render tower radar useless for it would be too cluttered to read.
If the scenario is a reality, they could be using it as a missile and wanted to load it with some major explosives to do whatever job they have in store for the aircraft. Or some dictator just got himself a plane. The theories are unlimited.
a code that could be set by ATC instead of the pilots. still gotta be a way to move it. its costing lives IMO
I don't which is worse--it BLEW UP because of mechanical malfunction or it was hijacked. Either is scary as hell.
