Your post demonstrates exactly what I said in my post. You aren't looking to learn anything about what Progressive values are. You're looking to attack the Democrats.

We were not in need of so many restrictions. Each one takes freedom away.

No I am not going to 'dispel inaccuracies'. Waste of time, because the inaccuracies would not be there first, if anyone wanted to know better. People ask questions when they want to know something. You want to troll and get the reward that trolls seek. Its not the same thing. You provide a environment where we want to play ball, and you will get a game. If not, you don't deserve one. Play catch among yourselves until you get bored.

See, it was a good prediction. You treat a group like crap and lie about them, they don't want to interact with you. You are a smart man.

Well, ask the woman. She will only go to court and pay a huge price for the children to even get recognized.

The child of the married has the law on the child's side and the court never challenges who the parents are.

Sorry, but you're just proving my point. You don't even have a ball to take home, which is why you are not going to dispel the inaccuracies. Not a waste of time, but rather that you are incapable of explaining progressive ideology.

So thanks for proving me correct.

You don't own the term marriage so there was nothing to steal. Btw as a heterosexual married man you don't speak for me as I don't think it was stolen. So the greed has come from you that you think you own marriage.

I am requoting to correct a mistake in my prior post in response to yours. I indicated they had the same inheritance right. They do not. The child of an unmarried set of parents has greater inheritance rights in the case of intestate (no will) inheritance. If the parents are married and one dies and all the dead person's children is by the living spouse, the living spouse inherits everything if there is no will. If the dead person has any children outside of his/her current marriage, then all his/her children whether or not by the marriage split 2/3rds and the surviving spouse gets 1/3. In that sense, a child born outside a marriage has greater rights in that situation.

It is always a waste of time to talk to people, who will not listen. One of the surest ways to determine whether people want to hear your opinion about your ideas and values, is that they ask and wait for it. If there are no conservative posters that are interested enough in learning about progressive values to shut up and listen, its not my fault! I will not discuss my values with someone who has already told me I don't have any. That would be stupid. You are a troll and I don't feed trolls no matter how manipulative they become, or how they try to spin my refusal. Your tactics remind me of middle school taunts of a schoolyard bully. You going to call be 'chicken' next, LOL.

If the author of the OP wants my input, he will provide some evidence that it will do some good to type it

oh good grief! umm, definitions are not owned, but rather understood (without that, there would be no language) by at least the people attempting to communicate.

Seriously, the meltdown from the left in this thread is epic!!!!

The only meltdown is coming from sour grape righties who try to play the victim. It's understood by most intelligent folks that it doesn't matter if gays can marry.

Progressives realize two consenting adults isn't a big deal. I.e. freedom unlike what cons believe.

It also shows that cons don't value freedom.

Is freedom a big deal for progressives?

If so, then progressives and libertarians are pretty much the same thing. So who the hell is pushing for obamacare? Obviously not progressives since they value freedom.

See how this works? We're actually narrowing this down to where we might be able to agree on a few things, such as freedom. :clapping:

Can we count on progressives fighting against the lack of freedom to do whatever we want as concerns mandatory (mandatory is the opposite of freedom) health care insurance?

Let gays sodomize each other until they are bleeding. I don't care.

But don't use their lust as an excuse to undermine the family.

For some. I tend toward the civil libertarian side of progressiveness usually, except when it comes to guns. To me there has to be a substantial harm to a class of people that is quantifiable for me to want to act in a way that regulates conduct. On guns, there is no national substantial harm, but there is sufficient substantial localized harm to make me willing to do away with them since the NRA decided it didn't want to allow targeted bans.

I prefer single-payer. I did not and do not support the PPACA as enacted, mostly because of the mandate and penalty, but also because it decided to penalize smokers $1400 a year when they need access to healthcare too.

Yes, the ability to keep the money I earn because of the state requiring taxes is putting my family at risk.

My grandchildren will grow up in a world that doesn't know what a family should be.

Then we can't say that progressives value freedom. Sure, some might value freedom, but what is the ideological imperative of progressivism? If not freedom, then we're not talking about freedom when trying to figure out just what those guys want.

Do you disagree with the idea that an armed populace is a danger to the state?

The state is all-important here. If you don't want people free to fight against an oppressive state, then you're not really up for freedom, but are rather a statist.

Do you consider yourself a progressive because you prefer single-payer?

It seems like a single payer system doesn't have much to do with freedom, so can we rule out the concept of freedom when discussing progressive ideology?

Definitely. Most people already don't. A natural family consists of cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Most people now are lucky to have two parents, and they sure as hell aren't close to their extended family. The modern economy and culture doesn't allow for it.

I did not claim I owned the term. I said the homosexuals stole it. But really it was handed to them by the scotus.

Still, homosexuals had no reason to use the term marriage. They had civil unions.

The Chinese understand this and they reject gay marriage.

BTW, I saw a sign above a Beijing urinal yesterday. The sign translated reads:

A small step forward, a step for civilization.
