Alternatively try Probenecid as a means to prevent gout attacks.

Posting has almost doubled since 2011 so that is not a flat-line.

Probenecid acts by inhibiting reabsorption of uric acid and it has some serious side effects in some people.

It works very much like Colchicine but the best way to end a persons problem if the get gout often is for them to take Allupurinol as 300 mg. a day and you are cured.

No but I think she might be interested.

Which is fine with me but I think this might embarrass her.

    I am very sexually secure.

Just to let you know....American's are not insecure at all.

    Not even a little.

Understand that there is only 320 Million American's yet we have a $18.5 Trillion Economy compared to the worlds 2nd largest economy the Chinese with 1.7 Billion people at $6.8 Trillion.

Th U.S. is also the worlds most wealthiest nation with National Wealth at $86 Trillion...Japan is #2 at $23 Trillion.

The United States is also the worlds largest producer of Oil, Natural Gas and Coal.

The U.S. has the worlds most powerful military by far.....and the American Worker is ranked #1 in Productivity.

The U.S. Market is by FAR the worlds largest and we control the economies of every nation on Earth.

The United States is said to be by the U.N. SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for keeping over 1 Billion people alive a year in U.S. Food Aid.

U.S. Medical Aid keeps over 800 Million people alive a year according to the U.N.

    American's are not sensitive.

I use Probenecid to prevent gout attacks and it appears to work since I have not had one since I started. As far as side effects go I can't say that I have any of those listed.

Last time I had a gout attack I was in Dublin and the health care services there were excellent. Cost me less than a copay here in the US for both the doctor's visit (there was no wait) and the medications.

Damn Dublin and their Irish Whiskey!!!

    I had....an...incident in Ireland.
Understand because of my body size and the fact I run every day I am near impervious to alcohol....unless of course I get into a Whiskey drinking contest using a WATER GLASS with a bunch of Paddies while all at the same time winning the contest and alienating ALL SIDES of the whole Northern Ireland issue...back in the day.

I won the drinking contest and called everyone in the bar a Potato Eating P@$$Y!

THEN....as if that was not bad enough....I yelled outside to the LOYALIST side of the street where Loyalists were all outside their bar.....and called the Queen a man.

    Oh...boy.

Good thing I am well trained.

Sounds to me like you were in the military.

Many decades ago I was in Cape Town, South Africa, when there happened to be a British aircraft carrier in port. Anyway a whole bunch of sailors from the carrier turned up at the pub where I was sharing a drink with some of my friends over there.

After getting well and truly pissed in the shortest time possible they started boasting about the English team beating the Springboks at rugby. Nothing like kicking the locals in their national pride and joy. It was starting to get ugly so discretion being the better part of valor we choose to find another pub.

I suspect that the English actually enjoy getting into fights in pubs.

Yeah....I am not Military although they give me rides.

I am..."CIVILIAN"...in the manner the quotes denote.

It's really difficult for me to get really drunk but every time I do...watch out!!

And for whatever reason even though they say it isn't possible...I seem to get stronger and faster.

I have only really become motherless drunk on a couple of very rare occasions and usually it was a kind of stress relief after losing someone close to me. I don't get belligerent, fortunately. What those drunken episodes taught me was what not to drink and now I stick mainly to high quality tequila on the rocks. Never had a hangover from tequila. Me and my best friend finished off an entire bottle between us one Saturday night and then got up early, had eggs and bacon for breakfast and went sailing with no ill effects. I love red wine but it makes me argumentative so I don't drink it very often in order to keep the peace with She Who Must Be Obeyed.

Edit: Just realized that this is the Ask the Mods thread. So in order to stay on topic have any of the mods ever posted while "under affluence of incohol", in other words, seriously drunk?

    LOL!!

I usually drink beer when posting but beer no matter how much cannot get me drunk.

I am sure the Mods have had to deal with drunk members before.

Actually yes it does. A healthy political debate forum should rise and fall every 2 years with the elections. This is not opinion but objective fact. The absolute flat-line in one of the biggest presidential elections in decades is not the sign of a healthy forum. This is objective statistics which you and yours are trying to discount with hyperbole.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Alexis started keeping track of mobile sessions back in late 2011. We dont know what the mobile traffic was. The important part of any political forum is that the traffic should rise significantly in a presidential election year. It hasn't.

Why were you on the Mod Squad for such a short time?

It looked like it was just a few weeks, though I might be wrong about that.

A few weeks? No, I was a Mod for a couple of years. Would still be but life is just too crazy with 2 new kids and a full time job.

Here's a simple yes/no question for the mods. Something I've always wondered:

Are there any members of actual influence here? High level Washington insiders, congressmen, etc? Someone who might take ideas and discussion from here and actually do something with them? And if yes, do they actually participate or just lurk?

Oh, sorry. It seemed that way to me.

It didn't appear you were still a mod when I joined, but then a few months later, I noticed the Mod descriptor on your name and then it was gone again. Maybe I just missed it at first. Congrats with your new kids, though! I'm sure you've heard this already, but enjoy it to the max. You won't notice it at first, but those years go by in a flash.

Thanks! And that is strange....I think it was back in March when I first saw the "moderator" under your name. It wasn't there very long though. A glitch perhaps.

I think we have at least one or two famous writers around here....Plus a radio show host?
And I think I remember one poster one time saying something about how they were running for some local office.
Couldn't tell you who that was even if I wanted to though.....because I forgot, lol. If there are more politicians around, they're anonymous.

Biggest problem is mods making up rules and (*)(*)(*)(*) poor interpretation. We now have two mods claiming it's against forum rules to ask a member a directed question on a thread they create... this is no joke. The issue with mods here is we don't know where we stand because they constantly make up bull(*)(*)(*)(*) rules and have the interpretations all of their own. So if I create a thread , and you ask me

" old youngin, do you have a different link ?"

That is actually against forum rules. Hahaha! No joke. This is why no one donates to this website.

Its not against the rules to ask other members questions......(wouldn't be much of a discussion forum if it were)
unless of course the question is unrelated to the thread topic and or intended to bait or harass another poster.

If one ever thinks that an individual mod has interpreted the rules in an unreasonable way, members who get an infraction always have the recourse of asking for an appeal,...in which case, all the staff will be summoned to discuss the particulars of why the infraction was given and then vote on whether or not to reverse it.
