So the kid disobeyed. Did something he had been told not to do on several occasions. Seems the parents have a discipline problem on their hands.

And if next time he decides to bring a weapon? Loaded? Demonstrate it's use? Kill a kid in the process?

The kid was told on several occasions that school is not the proper place for guns. Obviously he doesn't listen well.

I fail to see why this is a suspendable offence. I guess it is a private school and they can make rules as they go, but frankly, it's a stretch to say "He brought in a bullet casing, next thing will be a minigun!"

Give it a rest. He's a little boy. Since when did being a little boy become a ******ned crime in this ****ing place?

Morons teaching children , then we wonder what is wrong with America. By the time he graduates he will be indoctrinated to think guns are bad ! Pathetic .

Let me tell this story about gun shell casings. But first a shell casing is nothing but an empty brass container. Years ago an older neighbor of mine who happpened to win a small machine shop company was telling me about how during WWII our country swung into war materials production almost on a dine. He told me that in nearby Waterbury Conn a company that made lipstick containers started making casing for bullets. He explained that lipstick containers back then were made of brass. Without the liostick they look a lot like a didn't shell.Of course we all have seen what our wives or girlfriend's lipstick thingies look like so it made sense.

So the kid brought an empty lipstick container from one of his sister's Barbie doll lipsticks.

    The school is being idiotic.

Sounds like a school is being profoundly stupid.

Perhaps, but they have a legal right to be stupid if they so choose. The parents likewise have a legal right to find another school of their liking for their children to attend.

And demand a refund of tuition in total. And if they don't, sue them for every penny and court costs.

    That is beyond stupid.

Are you sure? It couldn't be that the snowflakes who run said day care are abusive thought police? And when it comes to listening, shouldn't the day care owners and employees abide by and adhere to the law? If they aren't is that a listening problem, or a legal/criminal one?

You seem to fear future conduct. So let me ask what engineering tyrannical group think does? You seem worried about things not even asserted. And yet, we can demonstrate the danger of progressive groupthink. A child now knows hate. A liberal child care provider instilled that in him. Who's the criminal?

You think they were correct for suspending a 4 year old for bringing a tiny piece of inert brass smaller than a pencil eraser?

Should the 4 year old have "know better?" Should the parents have searched the child for this tiny object beforehand?

Should this instead be the punishment for children disobeying school policy?

    No stretch.

    https://www.google.com/#q=kid+brings+gun+to+school&*&spf=378

He's been told that school is not the place for guns. He wanted to show off and disobeyed. Before it was drawings and toys. Then a shell casing, next?

Not about guns, per se, it is about teaching obedience to the rules.

First it's website banter, then it's active protesting in the street, then it's the gateway offensives. Burning cars... Looting... Spare me the BS lecture on obedience to the rules...

No, it's not about "teaching" obedience. It's about PARENTING.

The onus is on the parents.

Since the boy didn't bring in a firearm, didn't threaten anyone, I still fail to see what logic the school is applying here. Why not meet with the parents and have a discussion like civilized human beings, before we punish a 4 year old, who is about 17 years away from having full brain development?

America has a very myopic view of children.

    PUUUULLLLLLLEEEEEEEZZZZZZZEEEE!!!!!

Cram that "snowflake" crap where the sun don't shine. The "snowflakes" here are you and the rest claiming this is some 2nd issue.

    IT IS A BEHAVIOR ISSUE!

Replace "shell" with "steal" and it's still the same issue as in...

Johnny had stolen several times in the past
Johnny had been told stealing is unacceptable at school
Johnny's parents had been told of the issue about stealing
Johnny came to school and stole again.

A behavior issue, not a gun issue.

I'm not so sure, if the school is integrated as I believe it is with little Libby children then I do see the concern! It would have only been a matter of time before the casing was swallowed or logged in a sinus cavity or ear canal, Libby's need special attention!

Should have explained to the boy "those school people are those awful mean stupid Democrats, they are terrible people" and found another pre-school.

Anytime anything bad happens, say "that's those awful Democrats again."

    Teach 'em young.

Of course it takes a "conservative" to point out the uselessness of the rules.

Yes, it is a behavior issue. As in the abusive thought police who run said school. As in the thought crime they've perpetrated on a defenseless child. They've taught his what hate feels like. Problem with being a snowflake is that eventually the temp changes and you melt. Try not to drip on the computer...
