    yes he supports their right to do so but he didn't say it was the right thing to do
    there is a big difference in having a right and it being the right thing to do
    I have the right to call someone black the N word but it sure isn't the right thing to do

    Everyone supports the right of the players to kneel. No one wants them prosecuted.

    Not at all. I don't want there to be any policy made in this matter whatsoever. I just wish folks would have a little more common decency. If you don't want to stand and render the proper respects to the anthem then why don't you just stay in the locker room until it's complete? Why come out and intentionally be rude? If you don't like something then just don't participate in it.

    I get invited to Bible study by my coworkers basically like every day because they see me as a foul mouthed heathen who is a good friend but is more than likely going to Hell. I always decline because I'd rather drink beer on Wednesday nights instead of going to Bible study. I'm not going to show up there one day then intentionally be disrespectful to their service simply because I don't agree with it. It would be rude of me to intentionally show up to their service with the sole intention of standing up and folding my arms while they get down on one knee.

    So the dummies have money to burn. They should pay their taxes if they are so patriotic. Why don't the sing the national anthem and say the pledge of allegiance every day when they go to work and when they have sex? Isn't that the patriotic thing to do?

    you missed the point entirely because you don't know much about football.

    of all the players on a football team, the O lineman are by far the most team oriented. they operate as a group, more than any other unit. On a lot of teams that is exaggerated to the point that the Oline does virtually everything together as one unit.

    so to be honest, it was surprising that he went out of the locker room in the first place, but his history of service compelled him.

    Players used to stay in the locker room during the anthem. In 2009 the Dept of Defense paid the NFL millions of dollars to make the national anthem a spectacle before regular season games. I prefer the days before 2009 where nobody gave a **** what the players were doing in the locker room when the anthem was being sung.

    Actually, no. But I think the interpretation of the law could be questioned. Especially when all you brave cool cats would not dare go into a Muslim bakery and make the same demands.

    I think we have to abide by court rulings, but time and again these court rulings have been found to be improper and decidedly wrong by higher courts. (Example a rouge judge in Hawaii striking down a presidential travel ban where the law clearly allows the president those powers. The media surely did not care then the authority was being usurped by some biased judge.) But in the meantime, I think we have to follow the law and pay the price if we choose not to.

    between the polls where over 70% of the public disapprove of kneeling during the anthem calling it unpatriotic to the sharp decline in NFL ratings
    this is a win for Trump
    this is one of the biggest problems you liberals have you believe all this Hollywood actors and actresses and sports star are the voice of America and it couldn't be further from the truth
    didn't you learn a dam thing from the last election middle America doesn't give a dam what they have to say

    I think Trump is going to be Trump.

    But until he said what he said, no one in the political world, sports world, or the media could even talk about it honestly because they too afraid to. Now, the public gets to, thanks to him. For these athletes, and for the NFL, now things get real.
