It's funny what people think is and is not sexy.

Had my hourly dose of concentrated orange juice for breakfast this morning.

Caught the flu somewhere this past week -- most likely at the hospital with all the people coming in sick with the flu -- and it hit me around noon yesterday.

So I slept through New Year's Eve like a rock and did not hear a single fire cracker.

My neighbors go hog wild on such celebrations and our neighborhood sounds like Tet during the Viet Nam War from about 9 PM until after midnight.

Now I am up with a runny nose after a hard night's sleep drowning myself in orange juice and the antioxidant called Vitamin C.

 

Morning, folks. Is it just me, or does this year really seem to be dragging?

 

Boring is good. I like a slow day.

I'm down for the count. Been sleeping all day and drinking copious amounts of orange juice. The flu has definitely caught me. This is day #2.

 

A third option, which I also occasionally use, is to only loan out things I would not be overly disturbed at losing. Some things are expendable or redundant anyway.

 

They say lemons and even lemon seeds are can be helpful with infections; also of course elderberry syrup, garlic, and radishes.

For chest congestion Chestal, a homeopathic remedy sold mostly in health food stores, is also quite helpful.

Some of this year's flu strains are quite toxic, so take care.

 

Sleeping through as much of the flu as possible is the way to go.
OJ is great unless it starts giving you the runs.

Made it home from Aggieland. Darn cold here (27), but bright blue skies. Beats the fog crap weve had for a week now.

Cooking Black eyed peas and warming a smoked ham. Pan of cornbread and call it supper.

Yes, all legal. Some watches and compasses have radium or tritium in them to glow in the dark. They'd set off a Geiger counter, but are safe.

I'm into day three of The Black Death. It's not so bad, except that I'm driving from San Bernardino to Moreno Valley to French Camp, Ca. That's right about 425mi.

It's going to take me two full days to get there (I hope I get there.). I started out at 4:00 this morning after sleeping 12hrs. last night. Driving an hour or two and sleeping one or two.

177mi. so far.

 

Driving sick is rough.

Slept all day today on Monday New Year's Day.

Woke at 4PM and made some beef noodle soup.

Mixed some more orange juice from the frozen concentrate.

I am going to need more orange juice concentrate eventually. Starting to run out.

Feeling a little better though now.

Nose not as runny.

Headache not as bad.

Body aches not quite as bad.

Still tired though even after 21 hours of continuous sleep.
