Saudi Arabia had NOTHING to do with Syria.. and had no interest until Assad started slaughtering Sunnis.

What do YOU think Saudi Arabia wants from Syria?

Margot is a Saudi apologist. Apparently, she was a rich oil brat who lived in Saudi Arabia among the Saudi oligarchs. She thinks this makes her an expert on Middle Eastern affairs.

We have been over this numerous times - things were not "very bad in Syria" for 5 years prior to the war - Relative to what "Saudi Arabia" ? relative to how things were after the war.

Try criticizing the caliphate in Saudi Arabia and see what happens to you. Syria was miles ahead of El Saud in relation to human rights and individual liberty.

The Islamist's took over the protest movement and started shooting at the peace keepers - so yes they shot back at those trying to kill them.

While some of Assad's Sunni conscripts deserted - to go join the holy Jihad that wanted to turn Syria into a Strict Sharia Theocracy - 50% of Assad's regular army was Sunni ... Sunni's that wanted to keep their individual liberty.

Whining and complaining "Assad is a bad Guy" is a cheap tactic to try and ignore the will of the Syrian people. People who have put their lives on the line to fight against the Islamist extremists.

Your claim that it was a "civil war" is abject nonsense and has been refuted six ways to Sunday previously. You standing on a soap box crying "it was a civil war" over and over like in some religious trance - is not proof of anything and it is certainly not a refutation to the reams of information to the contrary provided you previously.

Growing up among Saudi oligarchs doesn't make you an expert in anything except corruption, propaganda, and oppression.

Are you kidding me? Saudi Arabia wants no part of any Caliphate... They have been very clear about that since the 1920s... and if you knew anything about the ME, you'd know why.

The Syrian people hate Assad because he ts a cruel, corrupt, oppressive leader just like his father.

Saudi Arabia is a tyrannical dictatorship that exports terrorism to every corner of the globe. And you are their apologist, albeit not a very good one.

I agree about many Sunnis detesting ISIL. Lebanon has rougly equal numbers of Sunni and Shia, but there is almost no support for ISIL.

I don't think this is a reasonable characterization of the present U.S. position.

Good grief, really? I'll make this simple for you. Iran who is aligned with Syria threatens Israel and Saudi Arabia's hegemony in the middle east. That should be simple enough for you.

Normally Margot makes good arguments. When it comes to anything related to her beloved Saud - logical and reason go out the window.

ISIS an AQ are also enemies of Saudi Arabia .. In fact, they are enemies of ALL Muslims and ALL Arab regimes.

Why don't you explain to all of us what parts of the Yinon plan are "B.S." since you are a self proclaimed expert.

I have noticed this over the years, it's like the Israel apologists who cannot accept that their beloved little country is engaged in land thieving and ethnic cleansing. Quite tiresome to be honest.

After Obama armed his "JV" team (ISIS)

Before Obama Russia wasn't in the Middle East.

After Reagan won the Cold War Russia exited the Middle East leaving one really tiny forward naval base in Tartus that did nothing except collected cobwebs for 17 years.

President's G.H. Bush (41), Clinton and Bush (43) were able to keep Russia out of the Middle East.
Obama couldn't. For eight years Obama always gave Russia what it wanted. One has to wonder who really was in collusion with Russia ?

Syria is still a sovereign nation and Syria invited Russia into Syria, sovereign nations can do that.
Syria never granted permission to the USA to be in Syria.

The Syrian civil war was a result of the Arab Spring that Obama supported 100% hoping to put the Muslim Brotherhood in power throughout the Middle East.

Obama picked sides in the Syrian civil war, Al Qaeda and ISIS and armed them with weapons.

Explain to us why Saudi Arabia isn't attacking ISIS, and why ISIS is not attacking Saudi Arabia? And just what are they doing in Yemen anyways?

Do you remember the UAR? Syria, Iraq and Iran have always been aligned with the Russians and the Soviets before them. Those countries are very different than the Gulf States in part because they have a rich history and culture and in part because they all had to cope with British imperialism.. They are more nationalistic.

ISIS has carried out over 2 dozen suicide bombings in Arabia.. The Saudis have had many pitched gun battles against ISIS.

The history of Yemen is complicated.. and the Saudi have shown great restraint.. but Yemen was always a weak and impoverished country and in the past 20 years they have been inundated with terrorist groups of every shade.. ISIS, AQ, Boko Haram, Al Shabaaz.. and there still remains a faction of communists and monarchists.

What ever Margot ... the fact remains that anyone who is Critical of El Saud is in deep doo doo.

The Syrian people had no love for Assad - many in this nation do not like Trump - The fact of the matter is that they hate the Islamist extremist rebel opposition a whole lot more.

I do not care about Assad nor apologize for him - unless it is on the basis of lies and propaganda .. such as the stuff you often cite and as per your previous post. What I care about is the people of Syria.

Frankly - I find siding with the Islamist rebel opposition - which is almost entirely comprised of (Al Qaeda, ISIS and few other groups of the same ilk ) disgusting.

You are not on the side of the people of Syria - you are on the side of the Islamist extremist who hate individual liberty and want to turn Syria into a Sharia theocracy. You are on the side of your beloved Saud and nothing else matters.

You hide behind Assad because you can not handle talking about the reason the people of Syria are fighting for Assad. You divert, avoid and live in denial when the topic moves to these issues and repeat like some religious fanatic "Assad is a bad Guy".

I have never said Assad is not a bad guy . The fact of the matter is that the "PEOPLE" of Syria fighting for Assad do so because the alternative is a whole lot worse.

I did not like Gaddafi either but there is not a single sane person in Libya who would not gladly trade what exists in Libya now for what existed under Gaddafi.

Same with Saddam - Saddam - and his son who was a real piece of work - were beyond abominable. That does not change the fact that our efforts to get rid of Saddam completely fked up the country in a way that was far worse than if Saddam had remained in power.

Your claim that the US was not supporting ISIS in Syria is a complete falsehood. This has been proven to you so many times by so many people it is not even funny - Yet - you continue to run to the playground and stick head deep in the sandbox of denial .. only to pop up later and repeat the same nonsense that has been refuted so many times it is not even funny.

Those terrorist attacks you mention are Houthi rebels retaliating against the Saudi terrorizing of their civilian population. Saudi Arabia showing great restraint, you have got to be kidding...
