I believe he offered that deal and the dems wouldn't go for it. They think DACA will help them in the 2018 so they don't want to fix it.

I think the wall is a boondoggle that more people and electronic surveillance is the key in that area. But we invested a lot of money in the DACA kids and I would prefer that resource stay in the country. So I voted yes.

    wrong.

Democrats offered $25 billion for the Wall in exchange for DACA.

then Trump demanded Democrats also agree to killing the Diversity Lottery, ending family unification and cutting immigration numbers in half. So Dems said "**** you".

We want a little more than fully funding the wall

At the very least end the visa lottery and the refugee loophole

It's not over until 2024 when Trump leaves office, 2018 midterms could make a big difference.

DACA for the wall is a good deal.

When the GOP loses its majority this fall, a new deal will be made in the lame duck session.

Can you show the polls you are claiming that Americans want illegal immigrants to become "Citizens"?

This seems like a twist of words and seems to be false.

    CBS
    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nation...ump-immigration-remarks-first-year-in-office/
    CBS Poll

    Actual Question -
"Do you favor or oppose DACA – or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – allowing
young immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children to remain in the country, if
they meet certain requirements such as going to school, joining the military, and don’t have a
    criminal record?"
    Favor - 70%
    Oppose - 30%

    NPR
    https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default...ts/2018-02/npr_immigration_topline_2.5.18.pdf

    Actual Question -
"Giving legal status to undocumented or illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children."
    Favor - 65%
    Oppose - 35%

    CNN
    http://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2018/images/02/28/rel3d.-.immigration.pdf

    Actual Question -
"Continue this policy and allow immigrants who meet these qualifications to remain the U.S."
    Favor - 83%
    Oppose - 17%

I find your original poll to be a huge twisting of the facts and it appears you are trying to push an agenda.

More people I have spoken with in work, social and online environments are fine with them staying with a Green Card, but full Citizenship is not something they support. Anecdotal, but still more valid than the OP's claim.

I am for allowing Green Cards for all, Citizenship is something that needs to be learned, get to the back of line.

And if they keep the majority, would that make you feel America wants the wall and not DACA instead?

Absolutely no chain migration for any immigrants, Indian, Hispanic, Asian, and lets not forget the Africans.. Let the family members stand in line like everyone else.

Come to think of it maybe it was. Then again, I'm of European ancestry. Since it is human nature to want to be around those more like yourself, I'd say keep the flood gates open for the Europeans--those people whom you call racist, white supremacists and Nazis if they don't bend over for hoards of minorities flooding in.

When the GOP gains even more of a majority in the fall it spells the end of the DNC.

That deal as I understand it was offered to the Democrats. Although with all the partisan, BS, political propaganda surrounding it, no one can say for sure. Schumer and Pelosi rejected it. Each side wants 100% of what they want without giving the other anything. I don't think the wall would accomplish much outside of being just a symbol. Like the Great Wall of China was and is. The Great Wall didn't work although the feeling of accomplishment and security was there.

What's that old saying about a locked door. That the lock door only keeps honest people honest.

The wall will not be a 2300 mile 30 foot high physical barrior as some imagine

It will be that near cities

But much of the border is desert that will patrolled by drones, cameras and other electronic sensors

With enough BP and or military to respond when illegals try to cross

And if people i MAGA hats all turn out in November it could go their way. I don't make predictions either but when others here make their predictions I like to point our the opposite could come true instead.
