Well the distinction they are trying to make now is that is not inhumane to separate families if the are less than 1000 miles separate but it is if that separation is more than 1000 miles.

Now we really see what they thing of families and especially children. Trump's family lives in unimaginable luxury-in literally gold plated rooms while each member has unlimited access to education, medical care, and immunity against the law. This is an old, old story.

In America, some 22% of children live in proverty and about 50% of Americans could not afford a $400 emergency. Is this a foundation for a strong nation and families?

Logically, none of this makes sense. It is an older law that is now enforced, then the administration tried to bring about emergency action when it was obvious the American people did not like the law on the books.

Then the Democrats shot down the idea and did not replace it with anything new, logically, there is nothing Trump can really do and if you talk to Liberals they will agree.

But, they will immediately say "But it is SERIOUSLY disgusting" which is also true, albeit arguing towards the emotional side of people instead of the logical side.

The emotional side of arguments has been a HUGE victory area for the Democratic Party for a long time now. But in these different times, I am not so sure that will happen.

It will be interesting to see if people vote on an emotional issue vs that of a logical issue in the coming mid terms.

Gee separating children from their parents is evil? Someone better tell the Child Protective Services. At any time in this country there are about half a million children who have been removed from their parents and placed in Foster Homes. The average length of separation is two years and the average stay in each home is six months.

Of course, CPS could have left them with their drug addicted or abusive alcoholic parents. Is that preferable? Or should they be accommodated for in a jail cell with their felon parent. Or should a felon get a pass because they have kids?

How is this any different than what is going on at the border?

One major difference I see right off is that CPS usually at least writes down whose children are whose, where who is going, stuff like that. They're saying they're going to need DNA testing to straighten things out now. That's fracking ridiculous.
