Here we go again. Is this really racism? Or is there more at play here?

There is much more at play.

Whining and a dedication to victimhood..........and a bit of greed.

He was asked to leave because he sat in the store for 30 minutes and didn't buy anything - not because he is black. This yahoo article shows the typical Yahoo lib BS, e.g., the use of the word "Victim." Yahoo runs at least one of these stories every day. I don't recall ever seeing a Yahoo story about the knockout game. Why was this man loitering? Did kid yourself libs - this guy had/has and agenda.

I betcha it’s been several hundred years since a white guy was told to leave. Lemme see if I can go back and find the thread.

They followed her down the road to the next place which was where the line was crossed. Refuse service is one thing to follow them then to another place is another thing.

That bit is ignored though by most of the media as it; doesn't fit their rhetoric.

Why not both. It seems perfectly possible that skin colour played a part in the staffs reaction to his presence. Underlying themes of racism (in all directions) do appear to run deep throughout US society after all. There also seems to be a lot being made out of a minor incident and there are clearly people jumping on the bandwagon for their own benefit (be that personal, political or financial). None of that necessarily means the initial complaint wasn’t legitimate though.

The bottom line remains that all Americans need to ask themselves why this can so easily become a thing in the first place. Why does you nation continue to struggle so much with race and what are you all going to do together to try to improve the situation?

If someone mistreated you would an apology be enough, or would you want to prevent this type of behavior from happening again to you or someone else?

I notice that you left this bit out:
So he was just doing his job as a court advocate. "Ragland, 31, is both a court-appointed special advocate and a visitation supervisor, so his job is to oversee meetings between kids and the parents who have lost custody of them."

This is the Story of the Century.

It needs to be pinned to the top of CE.

And I hope we see many more threads about it.

The fact that you think it's racist proves you are an extremist......and part of the problem rather than part of the solution.

    Eight takeways:

    1. He looks like a normal guy with a jacket and hat on his head. The fact that you think he looks like a gangster is disturbing.

    2. He was working. Sometimes people meet others in public places to have business meetings.

    3. If you're going to spend 30 minutes at an eatery ORDER SOMETHING. The business is there to make a profit, not for your convenience.

    4. I'm sure there are people of all races who try to use facilities without ordering something. Did the guys race draw more attention to him?

    5. He's a veteran.

    6. He left peacefully when asked.

    7. He received apologies from the store owner and police.

    8. Be tactful in your relations with customers. Did anyone ask the guy what he'd like to order? Did anyone say one word to him before deciding that he was "suspicious", resulting in a call to the police?
