I know of no poll that indicates most Americans don't want the wall either. There is already a fence along the border and the wall can use the same space.
My opinion, Trump or his Admin are not really serious about this "deal", if he was he already had a good one with the Dems giving him $22B for the wall then Coulter and Rush whine to the high heavens and Trump did a total backtrack. So, it's just a political ploy, dangle.
Trump does not want a deal. He needs this news cycle going to detract from the story the FBI is closing in on him.
In 2006, the Secure Fence Act required that the federal government must build 700 miles of fencing. Congress is financing that fencing's maintenance and repair. Trump's demand for $5.7 billion of US taxpayer money for his "big, beautiful wall!" that he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for is a distict and separate matter:
Then you can pay for it. Expect to be tied up in the courts for years by Americans who will oppose having their private property confiscated if it is a federal project. If all the landowners wish to accept your private offers to them, the let's-give-trump-his-big-beautiful-wall boys would not need to seize it by eminent domain, of course.
The Roosevelt Reservation of 1907 provides for a 60 foot gov't easement / right of way on the US side. The gov't doesn't need to buy anymore land. https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Proclamation_758 BUILD DAT WALL!!!!!!!!
Americans do not want Trump's "big, beautiful wall" that he repeatedly promised Mexico would pay for: "… And if we can’t make a deal, we take the land and we pay them through a court process which goes actually fairly quickly... But we take the land! Otherwise you could never build anything... You have to use eminent domain!” https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...ld-work-to-build-wall-20190107-htmlstory.html
Prior polling showed even fewer were in favor. That means the wall is gaining in popularity. According to one poll 48% believe the gov't should be doing more to stop illegals. I'm with them.
I have no need of desperate diversions to days of yore, not even to Trump's promise of immediate repeal of the Affordable Care Act and replacement with "something terrific!" that "covers everybody!" at "less cost!" Such a historical reference would be almost as irrelevant as citing Lyin' Don's repeated vow to release his tax returns.
Still waiting for you to make a point ... Also, still waiting for the $2500 in yearly healthcare savings barry promised.
I would like for some of you who oppose the wall to explain to me the real reason you oppose the wall. Try not to use leftest talking points when you explain.
I wonder about people like you if they have any type of fence on their property or locks on their doors and windows.
DACA for the Wall? I'm unable to vote based on the way you present the choices. I'm willing to support Trump's wall in exchange for DACA being made permanent. I DON'T support Trump's offer of DACA for only 3 years.
Only 1.8 million not the 40 million and growing numbers that keep coming. And that would have to include abolishing catch and release, and the entire wall not just a section.
Should have entered a third option for just 1.8 million that are here illegally and an end to catch and release which is most important.
