Well the Virgina Tech massacre where 32 people where killed and another 17 injured, he used a Glock 9mm handgun with a 15 round magazine, and a Walther P22 handgun with a 10 round magazine.

Your idea to curb gun related mass shootings is on par with banning Vodka to cut down on drunk driving.

We are free to change the Constitution if we so desire, as you said we've done it on multiple occasions. The Constitution specifically outlines how to change it via Article V.

If we as a nation don't like the 2nd Amendment we can change it. Go through the process outlined by law. I will 100% support changing the 2nd Amendment if the process is followed legally. We can even update the language to make it more clear in 21st century terms if we so desire since that seems to be the biggest debate about this whole thing.

Why is the government not going through the Amendment process?

Fallacy of false equivalence: eg, LV with automatic long arms produced over 500 casualties, whereas VT the hunter was tracking prey in a closed environment.

If your house was being invaded by 4 - 5 MS 13 gang members what would you choose to defend your family ??

not AR15 but they had "assault rifles" in the 1700. In fact Thomas Jefferson had 2 of them. It was a Girardoni rifle, that had a 22 round tubular magazine and could fire all shots before the typical Musket could get off 2-3 shots. So the argument that the founding fathers only meant Muskets with the 2A is false

You missed my point. The AR-15 is not used by the US military. The M1 and M14 are semiautomatic and both are still considered deadly military weapons so what is your point?

Jefferson was not a writer of the Constitution. Nowhere does the Giardoni appear in the Constitution or the amendments.

Jefferson was out of town at the time, but he did influence the writing of the constitution via correspondence.
The words slave or slavery doesn't appear in the US constitution either. Nor does the word democracy. So what's your point?

The point was that "Assault Rifles" where available and known about by our founding fathers, the fact that the Giardoni did not appear in the Constitution makes my point that the 2nd amendment was not just for muskets, if they wanted it to be only muskets they would of made it clear that "assault Rifles" like the Giardoni where not included in the right to bear arms.

The fact that they had knowledge of "Assault rifles" and didnt restrict them means that guns like the AR15 are protected under the 2nd amendment

How is me educating you on 1700 Assault rifles being disingenuous?

Or is this just an example of your point blowing up in your face and you thinking you have to reply with something?

500 injured not killed, and that has nothing to do with my point.

a well regulated militia of civilians with binary triggers can do elite military warfare tactics

It has everything to do with your point: a glock 17 is not the equivalent of automatic long arms as mass killing weapons.

Otherwise, soldiers would be running all over the battlefields with the glock as the primary weapons.

Why do you keep equating rapid fire trigger mechanisms and tricks to military tactics? What exactly do these two things have to do with one another? You can "train" military tactics with super soakers or broomsticks....

OK so a group of civilians can get together and form a militia and train in tactics. Good, that's sort of the point of a militia.

Name me one person that you know who owns an automatic weapon. I've been a firearm enthusiast for over 2 decades, NRA member, military veteran, and I know A LOT of gun owners. I only know of one person who owns an automatic weapon.

Soldiers don't run around the battlefield with AR-15's as their primary weapon either by the way.

Such militia will never be able to do "elite warfare tactics."
