Rubbish. The honest answer is that the House decided not to pursue the issue with the Courts as Trump would deliberately slow that process down with as many delaying tactics as he could, including appeal after appeal.
Like it or not, that is how our system works. Of course the Dems could have asked for an expedited hearing. But they didn't even attempt to bring it to the courts.
No one said that you have to like it. But not surprised you don't support a system that requires the accuser to support their claim, and the accused doesn't have to prove their innocent.
Sure, an accuser ought prove their claims, but that becomes impossible in the World of Impeachment where POTUS acts like this prick of a POTUS does......protect himself, require his subordinates to protect him by covering up....suppressing the truth, crapping all over everything which ought to be held in high regard in any civil society, and your Constitution. You know it, you just can't bring yourself to say so. Where on this Planet, other than in the USA, does an accused person actually conduct and control their own Trial?
You know, I keep hearing that claim but I've yet to see proof of it beyond "anonymous source said". Got any actual proof such happened? For all we know that anonymous source is a random person on the street.
Such comical twisting... The People 'terrorized' their senators? lol... Voting em out if they go against their constituents will is the foundation of representative democracy, its not 'terrorism'.
The REAL QUESTION that needs to be asked is if OUR NATION is better or worse off than it was in 2016 and the answer is NO, not at all! It is much WORSE OFF because of the depredations and fiscal malfeasance of the criminal IMPOTUS, the GOP and the GREED OBSESSED Wall Street Casino Banksters.
The claim that the senate and Trump "worked together to dictate how the trial would go". The rules and all that. Got any proof of that other than hearsay?
Amazes me when people are presented with direct evidence, and they choose to take a very silly position. Just dumb. Really. Come on Team USA, you are better than this, yes?
What coordination exactly? Your own video shows that Trump said he'd do whatever the Senate wanted. In fact he wanted a long process just so he could hear what the WB had to say for himself. You do know that the Senate coordinated with Clinton also? That coordination had to do with time frames etc etc. I'd link to it but am on my phone.
The sooner “we as a nation” realize there are 240 other countries and territories in the world one may live, the better...
Oh sure...and the Tooth Fairy is real. Of course he will say that, knowing that McConnell has already committed to being his lap dog. Come on. Can we face reality here or just go ''la la la" with our fingers in our ears? Wake up Team USA. Have you never heard of that frog in slowly warming water?
There's one that is the spitting-image of Uncle Sam. It is called the EU, and consists of fewer "states" than the US but a much larger population. And, since its postwar inception it has practiced what is called a Social Democracy. No, Democratic Socialism is NOT the phrase for it. Because we must not forget the fundamental definition of "socialism" - which is that the means of all production are owned by the state/nation/central-government. Both the US and the EU are politically democratic institution of government. What they differ in mostly is outlook. At the end of WW2, central Europe had to piece itself together once again. And, if it new full well that the far-right Nazism was dead and gone, it needed badly a new "political mechanism". And it decided NOT to adopt that of the US, but to continue with what they had before Nazism. That is a parliamentary system that voted the Head of state by means of a controlling vote in its parliament. That has not changed since. What has changed is that the European Union is trying hard to make itself into a united-state under a common leadership. And it has the largest part - that of an EU legislature in Salsburg. All it needs is a unifying head-of-state. So, what I am saying is that the present system of governance - that goes back two centuries - was the right one from the very beginning. It got warped along the way by allowing states to determine by means of an illogical "first-past-the-post voting system rather than the pure popular-vote. Some scholars think this was necessary because in 1812 when the 12th Amendment was passed, the general population of the US was not the smartest. The nation was being built on the backs of those fleeing aristocracies in Europe and had very little sense of "democracy" or even a notion of "voting". That evolution took more than a century to build, and a Civil War to assure that "all its peoples" were considered "citizens" of the nation. And that's still very largely work-in-progress because we decided to formulate a two-block set of political parties.that fight one another for primacy in both the Legislature and the Presidency ...
Didn't stop the Dems with Nixon or Reps with Clinton. And the Senate would have to go through the exact same process to get around executive privilege so of course that is bunkum.
Howzat? The Senate was asked refused cogent information (from Bolton) then the Replicant majority voted Donald Dork off-the-hook. End of a tall-tale that shows how unjust a country can get in the pursuit of maintaining the control of the moneyed-class ...
