It's the right answer whether you like it or not. Securing a prisoner for transport is vital to controlling a crime scene. floyd, idiot that he was, did not have three people sitting on him.

While you can call him a menace or whatever else makes you feel good, that's simply an emotional response to this situation. In reality the officer in charge isn't supposed to react vs crowd reactions like some WWE event. He has to stay cool and keep his team safe. The police arrest criminals they are not responsible to professionally evaluate every crackheads' medical conditions. This was not a blatant disregard for that narcotics' enthusiasts' safety but prioritizing his teams' safety from a potentially violent crowd.

    So.
Not prepared to explain his thought processes during the event in his own words?
I wonder why that could be.

Derek Chauvin invokes Fifth Amendment (msn.com)
I just find out that Derek Chauvin is not going to testify in hi own behalf? What is going on here? He can't say that he is accused of a a crime that he didn't commit. Everyone and their brother knows that he set his knee down on George Floyd's neck and kept it there until death. We all know what Chauvin did was wrong. That's a fact.

And now we find out that the claim about CO poisoning was a load of rubbish but the prosecution are not allowed to bring it up in front of the jury. Will the new tactic by the defence be to let it slip out in order to claim a mis-trial....

Correction, the prosecution is not allowed to introduce any new evidence into the case that they were aware of but have not already introduced. Dr. Martin Tobin has already testified without that evidence that the CO levels suggested by the defense were impossible.

I hear the defense will probably rest today ... if so, legal tricks and summations tomorrow ... I'm betting it won't go to jury before mid next week ...

Right from the beginning of this trial we heard from "Chauvin Not Guilty" side to just wait until the defence brings in their witnesses. I'm surprised by the lack of defence witnesses. I presume that is the tactic the defence hope works. On Tuesday each defence witness was destroyed by the prosecution. Yesterday's "star" witness fell apart during cross-examination. I still will not be surprised if a plea bargain will be accepted before Monday.

I have been impressed by the prosecutor attorney, unimpressed by the defence attorney

I hadn't heard that but thanks ... I'm still predicting some pathetic extraneous motions from Chauvin's overwhelmed defense team ... it's all they have left other than a plea deal ... they couldn't provide any believable defense for Chauvin's actions ...

The blood test proved it. So, we know, but the judge did not allow the result to be admitted at this point.

According to the evidence the O2 saturation level in Floyd's blood was 98%, meaning that at most, all other non-oxygen levels were 2%. Normal CO levels in the blood are 1%-3%, far below what was suggested by the expert witness for the defense and non-lethal.

Maybe you should go to a school that teaches a variety of restraint techniques, then actually use them on meth/fent heads and tell us how it went.

The defense rested so any motion they might bring are extremely limited. The only thing left available to the defense is either a plea bargain or closing arguments on Monday.

Nope Floyd was exiting the vehicle on his own refusing to stay in the police SUV. They PLEAD with him to just take a seat. He pushes himself to the other side and out the door TELLING the police "I'm going down, I'm going down", he WANTED to be on the ground.

It was a warning by the judge that the prosecution cannot introduce any evidence they had at their disposal but have not introduced (since the prosecution rested).

And defense witnesses made it clear he did not and even some of the prosecution witnesses said otherwise including the official and assumed unbias'd Medical Examiner.

It would be beyond weird if they declared mistrial on a case like this (case involving death) based on such trivial thing.

Ok, I see how it goes:
Once the process of direct examination, cross examination, and redirect of all the witnesses is complete, the prosecutor rests his case. After the prosecutor rests, no more witnesses can be called to the stand or evidence introduced by the government.

Not sure it's nonsense and I didn't make it up. Now it may be disputed by medical personnel but it isn't nonsense.

Just my opinion. Based on what I have followed so far (about 90% of the trial), the prosecution did a masterful job and all their expert witnesses were extremely convincing, especially the pulmonogist. They were not perfect and did make some mistakes but not enough to change much about their primary arguments. The defense's expert witnesses lacked credibility and in some cases even bolstered the prosecution's case. On paper Chauvin should be cooked but as I keep saying juries are unpredictable.

Hardly anything has happened today in the trial except that Chauvin is not going to stand and the CO claim is the second story. Do you ever bother to do a few seconds of research?
