I doubt it. Seeing as you've spent all of this time making up things I didn't say and falsely attributing it to me. I'll remember you said you'd remember. Meanwhile, can you actually discuss the topic now that your smear campaign has failed spectacularly?

Advocating people being put in the back of a police care illegally isn't an argument. It's authoritarian bullshit.

Or the couple would've provided their IDs which alone would have signaled to the cop they weren't scoping out cars and went on their marry way.

Or they could have refused and the cop could have respected their legal rights and everyone could have went on their merry way.

Why should they? If I'm walking through a public parking lot, clearly minding my own business and clearly not posing a threat to anyone, why should I have to prove my identity? When did the PD become like Nazi soldiers, asking for our "papers?"

The officer had no cause to stop these people, and it's pretty obvious that he did so because they were "walking in public while black."

So, in your view, it's okay to racially profile people according to their race?

    smh . . .

Yeap that could've happened but they made themselves look even more suspicious and boom now we whine. Let me give you a little story. I lived in a gated community, my condo got cleaned out by three thugs driving an old beat up rent a van, cops see this pulling out of the gated community knowing something didn't look right. Pulled them over got their ID's and let them go, I came home, called the cops and boom they were arrested within hours. Without those id's no bueno. Ohh and they were all white thugs. Reasonable suspicion put these criminals in jail.

The officer's "suspicion" was not at all reasonable. It was clearly based on race.

The cop was the criminal here. Crime doesn't become legal just because you think it is "whiny" to not want crimes committed against you.

There was no reasonable suspicion in this instance, which is why you had to hide behind your "little story" and run and hide from the topic. Your "little story" isn't a magic eraser that removes the legal rights of others.

There’s a debate about that going on right now. But according to the player, risking his life was preferable to showing ID. That’s what we’re dealing with here. Had he shown it, be the cop right or wrong, nothing would have happened and you wouldn’t have this thread going.

The suspect having no obligation to show ID is being debated here, that he refused to show ID is on him and why we have this thread.

You seem to think that if someone illegally demands your ID, that your choices should be murder or criminal victimhood. That's the "debate" that's going on right now: some of us think might doesn't make right and others are eagerly defending jackbooted thuggery.

And how many times has that happened for you?

That sounds slightly bombastic to me, just sayin'.

No, it isn't. There was no legal obligation. No one has provided any legal obligation. Instead, we have people arguing that he should have complied regardless of the legality.

Yes, that he chose to exercise his legal rights is why we have this thread. That the jackboot thug cop decided to violate that right is why we have this thread. That some people hold bootlicking over liberty is why we have this thread.

Defending the cop is not the issue here, had the guy shown ID he would have proven to the cop he was a good guy and not a car thief. Isn’t that a good thing regardless if the cop was right or wrong?

Innocent men get arrested every day. OJ Simpson and Kyle Rittenhouse for example

Now you’re basing your comment on the race of the cop.

I have a question If an Officer asks for your ID why SHOULDN'T you show it to him? Does that make you guilty or what?

I know it's your right and everything but it just seems the polite thing to do, assuming he has a badge and everything. Doesn't it just escalate the situation? Aren't you just being a dick?

I've always showed it right away. Is that unwise?

Police officers carry guns, and are held to a higher standard where mistakes are concerned.

Be careful about calling him out. I did once, he reported me and I got dinged even though he did it to me numerous times.
