Not really, because I hardly in any danger of some crazed Australian going on a shooting spree.

Martin Bryant went on one, with legal to own firearms of the time.

And that was in 1996 and not one mass shooting since.

They love guns because they believe it makes them a superhero that now has the ability to fight crime.

It makes them feel manly and invincible.

Plus, Americans love to kill things.

We here in the south only like to kill asinine, dumb, ridiculous, bigoted, and stupid outsiders. We let the good ones live.

Logical fallacy. Can't remember the name of it.

Mass shootings were very rare even before 1996.

So what does that tell you about Australia and America?

That our politicians overreacted and saw cause where there was none?

The question should not have been, "Should these firearms be legal," it should have been, "Should Martin Bryant have been allowed to own them in the first place?"

See the difference? There's no real reason why a law abiding, mentally fit adult should not be allowed to own a firearm. There are about 3 million legally owned firearms in Australia. All they did was make them harder to obtain and made it so the "scary" ones were illegal.

The murder rate in Australia had been decreasing for about 20 years before Port Arthur and there's no reason to think that it was suddenly going to increase without the banning of military weapons in private hands.

Oh, I agree. It was an overreaction. I also think that if people could own guns, we still wouldn't have anywhere close to the level of violence we see in the US.

I think it's more than that. I think having guns gives them the feeling that they could, if they chose to, overthrow the government. Which they can't, because the government is far better armed and won't because this feeling, that they "could" is enough to placate them. It's a wierd kind of reverse psychology. In this regard, American's are incarcerated by the very objects that they're convinced makes them free.

The French are listened to by their government far more than Americans by theirs, simply because there is an inbetween step in France, which they chose to exercise - the right to protest and bring cities to a stop. Americans don't do this, as they are waiting for the day (which apparently never comes), that they have to use their militia's to actually overthrow the government.

To be manipulated by governmental masters like this and at the same time be pursuaded that they are free, is actually quite sad, and reminds me of NK and the manipulation of their people.

Um... I have the guns you mentioned short of the .50BMG. I am not a big fan of my Springfield GI 1911, its not ambidextrous. Hence my interest in the M&P series.

I had looked into buying an AR-50, but alas, I needed a new car more than I needed an .50BMG.

1st of all, the boy is holding an AR15 with grenade launcher, not AK47.

Secondly, the mom is not pointing at the baby. The baby has the butt stock.

Guns are a family experience. Shooting is a sport. My family has some great memories of target practice together.

what kind of car are you looking for? older (but not too old) used Caddies are prob the best deal. the old farts that had them first didn't beat on them or even really drive them much. look for local estate sales.

Yes. I would definitely find it disturbing if it were a muslim family. Know why? Because THEY have a history of brainless violence against anyone who does not believe as they do.

    There's a difference.

What are you trying to do? Disarm Americans so that they have no means of protecting themselves from criminals and those bent on our destruction?

I don't know how you can tell, but it looks like a M203 40mm grenade launcher. They are great fun, and I would live to get on the range with my boys and a 203. :D

No - its you American love of death that I find disgusting. You've been getting off on snuff pics and their equivalent for years, but most of us find it as inexplicable as your obvious love of kicking people's arses (love-hate relationship?), or sex with camels. Keep it to yourselves, do. Listen to the way you all slobber!
