You probably don't need a gun in your daily life, but some people do. You sound like the fat (*)(*)(*)(*)er who eats far too much, trying to tell the person living on ramen noodles 3 times a day that he is just fine with his steady diet of noodle, or worse, he doesn't need to eat at all. This is the same attitude that people with a great high paying job telling non college material people that they can make it just fine flipping burgers when they used to have a living wage job making electrical motors at U.T. before they went to mexico so they could pay a couple bucks an hour, as they live in cardboard boxes.

In other words, you sound like a modern liberal. I could take you to lots of places where if you had this attitude, you better damn well have a gun or you would be beat to death. So stay in whatever kind of bubble you are in. And do not venture out. Lots of pissed off angry people out there that would not take kindly to this bubble attitude. I found out long ago in a country across the pacific that there is a very thin veneer between being civilized and being a barbarian. You apparently have no experience in such things. That is what living in your comfortable bubble creates.

Jesus how long ago did the USA reject the opposite ideology in historic fashion? Get a grip, the USA is completely schizophrenic. It has no clue what it wants or what it doesn't. Obama's still got fantastic popularity numbers, and Clinton got more votes than Trump, but Trump got the right votes in the right states.

So basically you are against a democracy except when your candidate loses. Next simple question, if Trump won the popular vote but lost the electoral would you be here making the same argument? Careful we will know if you lie.

Hahah trump got the votes in the right states....thanks capn obvious! Thats how our election works. Why remember at NOV 8th 6pm you guys were gloating....GLOOOOAATING that the election was over as soon as florida went for hillary, the msm was even.saying we will be going to bed early....then at 10pm.....you guys all of a sudden sang a different tune entitled "my butt hurts, where is my safe space"

You should work for the media. I am for fairness, and if we assume democratic processes must be used, as is the cultural reality of today, then I believe direct election is better than the electoral college. If my candidate won my position wouldn't change, but I would probably be talking about something else that is a problem. There is some bias in that, though a bias of omission. It's sort of like if the bank makes an error in your favor. It's not right, but it's hard to feel indignant about it as opposed to if they ripped you off. I have never been for the electoral college, and have never believed democratic processes are the best we can do.

The Constitution was created in a decidedly undemocratic fashion, even by the standards of 1787, and it's kept around even though the people who live today had nothing to do with its creation. It seems undemocratic to force future generations to abide by ancient rules. You might argue that they can change them, but only according to the oft unequal process outlined in those ancient rules.

You're changing the goal posts. What you suggest may be "more" democratic, but that does not make the federalist system undemocratic, as you implied in the post to which I responded. T

Like much of the Constitution, the federalist system is arbitrary. So is any democracy in which a state has arbitrary authority, which is pretty much every state. Why should people be able to vote for the things that individuals can or can't do peacefully with their lives? Why should one generation be able to pick the rules for another generation, or even one region for another? Frankly, the most democratic system would be one where all laws and regulations sunset with each new vote for representatives. Then the slate is always equal.

    Twitter
Barack Obama's Twitter account barackobama) is the official Twitter account for United States President Barack Obama and is used for his election efforts. Obama also uses the White House's Twitter account whitehouse) for his presidential activities. As of November 10, 2016, Obama's account had 79,010,191 followers,[7][8][9] followed 633,307 accounts,[10] and had posted 15,432 tweets.[7] Well into 2011, it was following the most people of any account on the network and was the third to achieve ten million followers. It is one of only two accounts in the world to be in the top ten in both followers and followees (Twitter friends). As of June 12, 2016, the White House account is also among the two-hundred most followed with nearly three million followers.[11] On May 18, 2015, Obama sent his first tweet from the first Twitter account dedicated exclusively to the U.S. President (@POTUS);[12] his first reply to a tweet directed at him was a tongue-in-cheek exchange with former President Bill Clinton (@billclinton).[13]

Obama has used Twitter to promote legislation and support for his policies.[14][15] He has been the subject of various controversies on Twitter.[16] Obama is also the subject of various debates on Twitter.[17][18] He has also used his account to respond to the public regarding the economy and employment.[19][20] Based on its rate of adoption, Twitter will have a complementary role to other communication efforts that is more significant in Obama's 2012 presidential campaign than in prior elections.[21]

    Statistics on Twitter usage[edit]

    Graph of Obama's follower growth
The account is among the top ten worldwide in both followers and followed.[7][22] The account held the record for following the most people.[23][24] Obama's account ranked sixth in terms of followers with 16.5 million followers,[7][8][9] and fourth in terms of accounts followed with 677,188.[10]

During his 2008 campaign the account was intermittently the worlds most followed. In May 2010 Obama's Twitter account ranked as the fourth most followed account with about 4 million followers.[25] By May 16, 2011, barackobama was followed by 7.4 million people, including twenty-eight world leaders.[26] His account became the third account to reach 10 million followers in September 2011.[23][24] Obama is presently (as of 31 December, 2014) one of only three accounts with over 50 million followers on the platform, behind the accounts of musicians Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.

    Account usage history[edit]

Obama tweeting on May 24, 2012 in response to hashtagged questions barackobama was launched on March 5, 2007 at 16:08:25,[27] is his official account, although he also tweets through whitehouse that is usually used by the presidential administration while barackobama is for his election campaign staff.[28] whitehouse predates the Presidency of Barack Obama, since it was created on April 21, 2007.[29] Following the 2008 United States presidential election, the Democratic National Committee was believed to have taken over the account and in a speech in November 2009, Obama stated "I have never used Twitter", although he had over 2.6 million followers.[30][31] The barackobama account is "run by #Obama2012 campaign staff. Tweets from the President are signed -bo."[32][33] Although his staff does most of his tweeting, Obama became active on the account in June 2011, tweeting under his own initials, beginning with the father's day message "Being a father is sometimes my hardest but always my most rewarding job..."[24][28]

Obama has at various times held public forums in which he fielded questions posted on Twitter. On July 6, 2011, he participated in what was billed as "Twitter Presents Townhall @ the White House".[19][34] The event was held in the East Room of the White House and was streamed online. Only tweeted questions about the economy and jobs were accepted for oral response by Obama.[35] His average responses were over 2000 characters and when Speaker of the United States House of Representatives John Boehner tweeted "Where are the jobs?" to the hashtag #AskObama,[36] it took Obama 3111 characters to respond.[37] The event was moderated by Twitter executive Jack Dorsey, and Obama started the session with a sample tweet to himself through whitehouse that said "in order to reduce the deficit, what costs would you cut and what investments would you keep – bo".[38] Dorsey said afterwards that Twitter received over 110,000 #AskObama-hashtagged tweets.[39] Boehner was quite active with his questions from the outset.[38] Some in the media proposed May 24, 2012, as the date when Obama became the first President to respond to questions on Twitter.[20][40]

On July 29, 2011, during the United States debt-ceiling crisis, the account lost over 40,000 followers when the president asked "Americans Friday to call, email and tweet Congressional leaders to 'keep the pressure on' lawmakers in hopes of reaching a bipartisan deal to raise the nation's $14.3 trillion debt limit ahead of an August 2 deadline."[14] During the day, he sent about 100 tweets that included the Twitter accounts of Congressional Republicans.[41] Later in 2011, Obama used Twitter again to try to encourage the people to voice their opinion on legislation when he was attempting to pass the American Jobs Act.[15]

And that is just the Twitter usage....you really should check your facts before getting snarky, it makes you look entirely foolish.

It took Nixon to get Carter. It took Bush to get Clinton. It took Bushleague to get Obama. Hillary has 2 million more votes than Trump and still counting and some rather intelligent computer scientists are wondering if Trump owes his win more to Putin, than he does to Comey or Clinton, or Sanders or himself.

The EU is doomed by its own corruption and the ego mania of the elites who run it for their personal profits and egos.

Trump should make his policy towards Europe that he deals with and negotiates with individual countries rather than the EU collectively.

We don't care about your opinion.

Go support a socialist/communist in your insignificant country. Or maybe a fascist. We don't care.

Do you pay attention...all of those things are factual things the left are using to cope...according to them. Not me. What do you call adults who need petting ponies to deal with stress of trump winning. Ok instead of moonbats we will call them what they are...leftists. if you need play doh to cope, I find that hilarious.

Interesting... I think you should brace yourself for a president that excels in corruption. He has already begun if you hadn't noticed.
The EU is actually a bulwark against much corruption and functions as a final arbiter even when countries attempt to circumvent laws.

You think Trump can unilaterally start negotiating with member states?

    - - - Updated - - -

Then you should take away Twitter from your baby president and make sure he knows how to comport himself when meeting other leaders. Please make sure he keeps his families fat fingers away as that is actually corruption.

Personally I think Trump should invite him over and make him United States Ambassador to the United Nations. That'd be a laugh, Farage at the UN!

But really, Farage for PM! Theresa May might be playing some 3D chess right now, actually intending to cockblock Brexit. Who knows what'll happen in that instance. Farage for PM!

You seem to live in Europe, so you must be unfamiliar with Australian politicians calling him all sorts of (*)(*)(*)(*). The leader of the opposition Bill Shorten has called him (after he was elected!) "barking mad", "entirely unsuitable". Senate opposition leader Penny Wong has said "Everyone is rightly appalled", "He is essentially talking about sexual assault" "“We know we live in a world where some people are still sexist."

"But I know I am not the only one relieved that with every passing day, with every disgusting, demeaning comment Mr Trump makes, the possibility of him being president fades." - Leader of the Opposition

Both of these opposition leaders in the House and Senate of our Parliament have called for an end to the 80 year US-Australian alliance over Trump. If that's not harmful to our relations I don't know what is.

I would perhaps hesitate in accusing the President of the United States of sexual assault if I were a representative of the Australian government.

Sort of makes Trump's comment look small time, does it not?

Yeah, the all powerful EU. That's funny as all get out. Bulwark against corruption. Yet, the EU was supposed to just be financial, and not anything to do with policy in the member states. Weird. They are doing just that. Funny how corruption just sneaks in under money.
Wow, someone assumes too much. But I understand the fear. It could only be fear, since, Trump is an unknown quantity. In mathematics we use an "x". Now one has to logically find the sum of "x". However, there is no equation. That is the proof in the pudding.
