AND a federal holiday........... "......But none of the reactions made note of the fact that the Gwinnett line formed on the first day of early voting, after months of corporate hype about the importance of early voting, nor that it fell on a federal holiday. Neither was it mentioned that Georgia saw a record 126,876 people vote on Monday — a 41 percent increase over the first day in 2016. Some tried to offer nuance on the viral clip. “Long lines in the first two hours of early voting are not actually indicative of a problem or too few polling locations. Do not cover them as if they are,” ProPublica reporter Jessica Huseman, who regularly covers elections and voter data, tweeted. As independent journalist Jeryl Bier calculated, Gwinnett County’s nine early voting stations will be open from 7a.m. to 7p.m. for the next 19 days, amounting to over 1,800 hours of early voting time. After former U.S. senator and current MSNBC analyst Claire McCaskill claimed that the video “is a picture of voter suppression,” Cook Political Report editor and election expert Dave Wasserman injected some context into the discussion. https://www.nationalreview.com/news...river&utm_content=most-popular&utm_term=ninth
The two aren’t mutually exclusive. Easier does not mean more fraud. Anyway there is no evidence of significant fraud.
Biden is not currently in office so it would be impossible for anyone to want him out of office. And no, most people do not want Biden in office — he is a bad candidate — unfortunately trump is even worse.
Yes, I agree this indicates enthusiasm, but Democrats are outnumbering Republicans in early voting where those results are available.
It’s true so worth repeating. And seems to be necessary since so many trumpsters keep bringing it up.
republicans here did the same, we used to vote at the elementary schools, took a few min to go in and vote now they moved all the voting to the public library, and now the waits are much longer, though not 9 hours, that is crazy Republicans believe the easier it is to vote, the harder it is for them to win
Hit that one out of the park, sorry you couldn't catch it before it left the park. But hey, you're a self proclaimed conservative poster. I keep forgetting, what with all of your deeply felt progressive faith and all....
Canards by definition aren't true and are unfounded and aren't worth repeating and it has been demonstrated to you over and over and over that voter fraud doesn't NOT have to be significant in order to change the outcome of an election. So stop repeating it.
Yes like voting was moved from schools long ago because of security and logistics and the interruptions at the school. And why would Republicans make it harder for themselves to vote if they are the majority in the county and run the elections? What county and what state is all the in person voting done at one public library? Do you have early voting?
long ago? 2016 was the first time moved here and same security concerns at the pubic library, this was only done to make it harder to vote where do you guys vote? yes, we do have early voting this year, the gov tried to fight it, but covid prevented that - first time have ever had
Read my post and identify the part that was false. I did not write what you say I wrote. Making it easier for some people to vote does not automatically result in increased voter fraud. Stop trying to push that false narrative.
This is where Dems are falling down on the job in my view. We have to take a serious look at each state's election laws, come up with a plan consistent with a broad interpretation of limitations those statutes, to wine and dine the voters standing in those lines within those boundaries, regardless of race, political affiliation, or demographic. We have to help those voters figure out how they can pee, receive a snack, a cup of coffee and rest during those 6 hours, or we will lose voters. We have to take off our Biden for President buttons, have some cookies, or granola bars, phone chargers, pitchers of water, and some lawn chairs. Help them entertain any kids sitting there with them. We don't want a massive turnout at the polls, just to see half of them go home
