Other than to try and appease an angry public that has demonstrated numerous times in the past, that they will cause widespread private and public property damage if they are upset and do not get what they want, even if they are not entitled to it. As has been demonstrated in numerous other incidents that were deemed as being "racially motivated" all because the suspect was black, while the law enforcement officer was not.

 

If the perp was not black the officer would not have been charged.

 

Yep communities have to feat riots and looting if officers are not put on trial.

It is not about matters pertaining to hurt feelings, but rather the sheer degree of private and property damage that is caused by those who riot when they do not get their way. These riots have a significant economic impact on the affected communities, especially with the number of stores burnt to the ground by those lobbing molotov cocktails without an ounce of concern for those in the path of such. To say nothing of the number of injuries innocent bystanders suffer simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The kid didn't have a weapon, the kid didn't fire a weapon, hell we don't even know if the young even knew the other guy was going to fire a weapon. You want to claim that this young man was a thug, hoodlum, etc., but from his teachers and folks in the neighborhood he was just the opposite.

He was in a car that had just fired one. Prove the police officer knew he was unarmed and what difference did it make he couldn't let the suspect get away.

And yet the absence of a firearm on the person of Antwon Rose was not capable of being determined until after the fact. If he truly did nothing wrong, played no part in doing anything wrong, he had no business attempting to flee in the first place.
