I saw the video. Here is a thought: if someone is following you with a gun, do not attack them.

Another thought: if you think someone committed a crime do not grab your gun and follow them.

In both cases each should have called the police and not reacted.

According to USA Today, his mother lived "about 2 miles from where he was killed." That's certainly a reasonable distance for a jog, but it's a probably not what I'd consider "his own neighborhood". Looking at a map of the location, he crossed some pretty major roads and possibly an interstate highway (I-95) to get to the Satilla Shores neighborhood where he was jogging.

 

Who goes jogging in hiking boots anyway.... Doesn't mean you can't just strikes me as odd.

 

Normally I agree with your position on this topic. But I believe you're mocking up the position of those who are saying he should have stopped. I'm pretty sure they'd say the same thing if Arbery was white....that(they say) he should have stopped and complied with the armed men.

 

You and with these guys whom you have already declared guilty, did so before you knew anything about the case. Even when courts and the Federal Government finds white people innocent you want them lynched.

 

And I have no reason to believe if the person who have been suspected of break-ins was described as white the the older McMichael's had seen a white guy previous and he believed this was him they would not have done the same thing in calling the police and they wanting to question the guy. Yes CBS reported that he "was in his own neighbor" which only tended to inflame the issue even more.

 

The report is that the older McMichaels and seen and confronted him before and that that Arbery had reached into his waiste as if he had a weapon and then ran off. They DID call the police but calling the police doesn't do much good if the person runs off.

And had that been the case then Arbery could have filed a complaint and had them arrested even they could not justify their act through the citizen arrest law.

 

What if your burglarizing your own neighborhood? And no it was not his own neighborhood. That's why the people living there had noticed him including the other 911 caller who saw him trespassing in a home that was being remodeled and was empty.

He had confronted him before and believed he was the person who had stolen a gun from his son. And yes I can confront strangers in my neighborhood if I believe they have committed a crime. Personally I would just observe and call the police and maybe try to follow so I could tell the police where they were. There is no law that says you can't asked someone what are you doing here.

 

I will admit that a pickup truck with Shotgun touting Whites is
