As an atheist while I don't believe in God I can understand the religious traditional practice of sex and marriage along with the benefits that come with it in practice versus what we have presently.

Losing jobs has nothing to do with being married and having kids...

 

Being married is part of being a successful human being--and is one of the behaviors that leads to success. I don't think our society has degraded to that point where you can't think about others. If you really feel that, I feel sorry for you. Life will be hard for you without somebody to have your back (which is what a good spouse does).

I don’t feel this way because I like it I feel this way because that’s the society I see and it all started when they allowed no fault divorce and the free loving era of the 60s

Marriage is fundamentally the relationship between two people. That's all. It just takes two to make it work.

 

Someone having your back is part of that. To quote Stitch, "Ohana means family, and family means no one left behind or forgotten." Two parents cannot raise children unless they have each other's backs. It's a fundamental part of it. Selfishness is the reason marriages don't work, not changes in laws.
