During the last ice age, humans liver near the equator, between two ice cubes. The climate of the earth was different, and much of what is desert now, was lush forests. My guess is there are large cities buried in the Sahara, waiting for the tech to find them.

Not in the past 11,000 years.

Pleistocene Epoch: Facts About the Last Ice Age
    www.livescience.com/40311-pleistocene-epoch.html
The Pleistocene Epoch began about 2.6 million years ago and lasted until about 11,700 years ago. The most recent Ice Age occurred then, as glaciers covered huge parts of Earth.

I'm sure they took a few days to melt, If you'll notice most of our questioned, unexplained, history goes back to that period, like we emerged from the stone age again.

"Gurkha, flying a swift and powerful vimana (fast aircraft)
hurled a single projectile (rocket) charged with the power
    of the Universe (nuclear device).
    An incandescent column of
smoke and flame, as bright as ten thousand suns, rose with
    all its splendor.

It was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic
messenger of death, which reduced to ashes the entire race
of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas.

The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable.
Hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause,
    and the birds turned white.

...After a few hours all foodstuffs were infected...
...to escape from this fire the soldiers threw
themselves in streams to wash themselves and their
    equipment."
    ÄÄ The Mahabharata

Either they had some great sci-fi writers, for the stone age book clubs,
Or these people actually witnessed something

there are no stones today that can't be move today, ancient people simple tools and engineering
tight fitting masonary, go talk to a stone mason, my dad was stone mason not a big deal with very simple tools
people who make those videos and claims are in the dark about simple technology, don't be mislead by what they claim.

The problem is that you simply cannot duplicate the carvings, and movement without machinery.
    It just cannot be done.

If we use the UFO theory, which is the most logical, and documented, advanced people showed up with the knowledge and tools, and had the stone age populace at their bidding for general labor. There was no infrastructure, no steel, no building materials other than stone.
And this was duplicated on all continents, isolated from each other.
This can no longer be hand-waved off as lost abilities, that everybody all over the earth learned, but independent of each other, and then forgot.
You can't make these things by banging rocks together.

The earth went through a period that is pushed aside by religions, and the failure to accept, we are not the first in the chain.

it's uninformed explaining what they can't fathom to the uninformed...
not much secret about building the pyramids despite what's claimed, the Egyptians left pictures of the process and their tools have been found on site...this isn't really a mystery, the techniques used are still used today just with better tools...

why not, you think they couldn't measure...I've done some stone work, it's not as hard as you make out...

first writing was by Sumerians 3500BCE... so if something was constructed before that period in Sumeria there would be no written historical record and as no other culture had written records yet none of what they constructed would historical fact either and nothing to be dismissed by religion...

Arrogance? that's all yours dude...in your case a big dose of Dunning Kruger Effect, maybe you should spend a few years studying anthropology/archeology in Uni like I did or my daughter who has two degrees in the same field...

Hwass didn't know about Tepe, lol well his field of study is Egyptology so why would he?

you've got conspiracy theory on the brain syndrome...what else you got? faked lunar landing? Bigfoot? alien abduction? climate change hoax?

    RE:
The Ancient monoliths & Impressive, massive stone structures were fascinating to me long before I was lucky enough to spend a couple of nights alone at Stonehenge in 1972.
The head guard was trusting & kind enough to accommodate my request to spend 2 days & nights at Stonehenge after treating me to ale & a home cooked meal with his wife in their cottage overlooking Stonehenge.

Afterward, I worked with a stone mason long enough to appreciate the skill & knowledge that goes into cutting & shaping stone but am awestruck at what must have been used to cut the massive rocks by what we have assumed to be primitive people.

Since I'm unaware of other credible theories as to how such massive stones had been cut into such precise shapes, I'm interested in your opinion of the following article:

    "The Legendary Shamir"
"The ancient stonemason's worktool cutting stone with sunlight"

    http://www.reach-unlimited.com/p/1294369029/the-legendary--shamir--a-reflecting-dish-or-stone-crystal-that-cut-stone-with-sunlight

EXCERPT "Cutting stone by focusing solar radiation is no longer some religious myth as technology has advanced to a level where we can now trace evidence in texts and in artifacts to recognize how it could have been accomplished.

The Shamir is a fabled device that is mentioned in both Arabic legend and Jewish texts. Its use as a stone nmason or 'stonecrafter's tool can be traced back to the time of Exodus, when the Jews left Egypt.

Accounts of the Shamir being used include the part where God made Moses write the 10 commandments in two stone tablets and during the Golden age of Israel when Solomon commanded Djinns (demons) and Angels to build the Temple of Israel during his reign as King."CONTINUED

what knowledge did your stonemason have that the ancient stonemasons didn't?...none, nothing has changed...my father used the same basic stone mason techniques used in the middle ages and that the romans used 2Kyrs ago and the Eygptians used 2K years before them...quality of the tools is better today but the methods are virtually the same...simple tools, simple engineering, lot's of labor and lot's of time and amazing creations can be made all without an alien in sight...

duplicated? man those aliens must've sucked...how is that all those stone structures have different build techniques? how is even the pyramids in egypt have different build methods? how is it that the pyramids of Egypt predate the Mayan pyramids by 3K years or the the Emperor Chin's pyramid tomb by about 1Kyrs...
where did where did those aliens go for a thousand years or more between pyramid building cultures? how did those super smart aliens forget which method they used on the previous pyramid?...:no:

The King of Tyre built the temple not demons and Jinns.

but that's not nearly as entertaining as the mundane truth...built by simple people with simple tools...

Yeah except I've seen what it takes to move a 5 ton boulder.

Moving a 100 ton block of stone isn't a question of how many ropes and hands you can get on it, it's physically impossible.

obviously not impossible as the Egyptians were moving enormous stones hundreds of miles on a regular basis, no aliens required...simple engineering, simple tools...

here's an obelisk estimated at 1,200 tons still in the quarry, found with all the standard stone mason marks and methods present, work was abandoned because it cracked...the romans moved another finished obelisk weighing over 300 tons to Rome, it now sits in front of the Vatican. If aliens helped Romans we'd know, they were pretty good at recording historical events...
the people who make these fantastic claims are not archeologists, they're just uninformed who come up with fantastical explanations for things beyond their knowledge base.

I wasn't talking specifically about the Temple just as Kings are rarely found moving, cutting & shaping 20 ton stones with painstaking precision.
Even though I've only briefly worked at cutting stone, my question remains, how have such massive stones in monuments around the world been cut with such precision?

they measure and used masonry tools...it's as simple as that...
why does no one question how this was done, incredible precision and delicate work...no diamond blades, lasers, power tools or aliens...

It's not so much the knowledge but the stonemason with whom I worked had hardened steel-alloy tools & the stones were much smaller. I'm unaware of any such metal or stone shaping tools that have been found at pre Bronze Era monument sites.
I don't believe the Ancient Alien theory but feel that there must have been some lost process or material that was used to so precisely cut & shape some of the massive & tightly fitting stone monuments around the world.
Perhaps that process or material is some of the information that was lost in the burning of the Alexandrian library.

What tools - process do you think were used at Goebekli Tepe, for example to cut & shape the multi ton stones?

I can better understand how detailed stonework was cut & shaped after the Iron age but still wonder what material and process was used in the Stone Age monuments.

no doubt some tools or methods have been lost which would be normal...every time a better tool or quicker method appeared the old ones would be abandoned, we do the same today...

simplest rule for shaping stone still applies, hit it with a harder stone...I've done the same, lot's of little taps with a harder stone will shape another slowly but with accuracy...dressing stones is an ancient technique, our tools are better and quicker but the idea is still the same...
