    hell hunney, I had to retire somewhere...43 acres by the river sounded good to me, and no more rat race of the city...Ah yes, some dayz I pick up the phone to see if service is still working since I get no phone calls...All I have to worry about is the drive by ******** of the bald eagles...
    But yes, Hollywood, like NYC and Washington D.C. are madhouses...I do miss the street hustling tactics of the big boys though..

    Yet another poster who wants to treat Allen's analogy literally in order to invalidate it. Isn't the whole point of analogies that they only compare certain aspects of desperate things in order to clarify and explain other things?

    Is the left making a thing of this off handed comment because ironically Trump is portrayed as Hitler all the time by them.

    I think it had something to do with similar ideology of the times. Today, like 1930's Germany, socialists oppress free speech, and eliminate gun rights, in an effort to end any opposition view points.

    Actually, the ideological rigidity and intolerance are strikingly similar. Artists who did not conform to the prevailing GroupThink™ were/are considered moral and intellectual degenerates.

    The same problem existed in the USSR, as well. If you didn't toe the ideological line you were subject to any variety of reprisals.

    I doubt Mr. Goldstein is going to draw comparisons to what happened in the Soviet Union, though, for some reason. He insists that the Nazis were "the world's most evil program of dehumanization, imprisonment and mass brutality". The body count and history says otherwise, but then again, maybe Mr. Goldstein is willing to overlook atrocities that many of his fellow left-wing Jews committed in that country.
