And i will point out to you that science declared CFCS harmless before they knew exactly the effect that would have. Same with Asbestos.... Harmless and now we know more. So again please show me evidence that links man to the warming trend over a normal warming/cooling trend and how much of an effect man is having on that trend.

We're talking about anthropogenic effects on climate. I gave you a recent example. Science isn't infallible and continually corrects itself and moves on. That's how science works. It's called progress, and I'd prefer to exercise caution rather than politically-motivated recklessness. Wouldn't you?

I'm not politically motivated at all on this issue. Great with this progress there should be someone willing to say that man is the cause of this warming trend by some range of percent no? With all the great minds and money being pumped into research no one is willing to make such a statement? If Man is creating "MMGW" SOMEONE should be able to say WHAT AMOUNT of the warming MAN is causing. I am not asking for 45.343773% here.....

Yeah, how is that working out for ya. We are still experiencing climate change

I wonder, if all the Volts sitting on dealership lots are causing global warming by absorbing more solar energy?

I'm sorry, it's just that it infuriates me when people come into a topic like this and ask, "Well what evidence is there for X", when they already should know if they're debating the subject. And yes, CO2 levels were higher... 15 Million years ago. That was the last time we had CO2 levels this high. I'm trying to look for causes of that, but I'm coming up with nothing. I suspect it's due to things like underground deposits of CO2 being released, but don't quote me on that. But understanding the effect man has on climate change is pretty straightforward: figure out how much CO2 impacts the global climate, then compare the man-made release of CO2 to the release from other sources. In the former case, the answer has turned out to be "a lot", and in the latter, it's been "we're most of it".

Well, there's this. (Analysis from secondary source here). And this. It's an extremely hard number to quantify due to the mess of variables involved, but these guys seem to have done at least some work on it.

Actually, most climatologists ascribe to the theory of anthropogenic climate change. The peer-reviewed scientific research is overwhelmingly in favor of it as well.

Did they use there own data and models or did they use the models from the UN which to say has had its share of issues.

Theres one theory that explains it all, but "scientists" deny it...

I know how all this happens, if you wanna discuss it.

But the fact remains, humans can not do a thing about it. It has happened before, and it will happen again. BTW, humans survive better in warmer climate than freezing climate

    Expanding Earth? Really?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epwg6Od49e8

I mean, are you (*)(*)(*)(*)ing kidding me? The expanding earth hypothesis is just nuts. I knew you were not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this is just... What even the (*)(*)(*)(*), man?

All right. Where does the mass come from?

Humans can do something about it. In fact, the point you seem to be missing within this discussion is that Humans have had a rather extreme impact on the climate, and we could probably slow, or even reverse the process if we cut our emissions down. We are, however, approaching the critical point on certain positive feedback loops - things like the Methane at the ocean floor, and in the Russian tundra. If we get too warm, that stuff starts releasing itself. And that would be bad. Really, really bad.

Reverse it? Really? Please post the consensus on that comment. There is no determining factor on what level our contribution is, the only factor they use is, give us some more money, and we all know what happens when governments get billions and trillions of tax dollars don't we.

    Im glad you asked.

It comes from the sun, via solar wind and solar mass ejections over the last 200,000,000 years.

Solar mass ejections are made of protons, hydrogen and helium molecules. Protons are effectively hydrogen molecules striped of their electrons.

    anyway.

Hydrogen atoms get picked up constantly as earth orbits. They hit the Ozone layer O3, and become water molecules...

Water falls to earth in the form of rain, runs to the lowest level, IE the ocean...

Earth has an ever increasing quantity of water. Pressure from all that water forces the bottom of the oceans down pushing the continents apart, and creating earths molten core. The molten core is the reason earth has a magnetic field.

Earth Quakes come from the sun.

During the Dinosaur age when the landmasses were all connected in a super continent called Pangaea, Antarctica was roughly where Australia is today. It was covered for millions of years in jungle. Then when they continents drifted apart all the forests and animals living on the continent died. Thats one of the reasons there is so much coal and oil there.

The mass comes from an every increasing quantity of matter on the surface of the earth, in gas and liquid H2O.

    2H + O = H2O
    2H2 + O2 = 2H2O

    No....

earthquakes are caused by the earths tectonic plates grinding and colliding against each other. This is caused by convection of heat in the mantle.

Tectonic plates dont move anywhere unless they are pushed. what pushed the tectonic plates apart? What huge force is responsible for that??

The answer is an ever increase quantity of water on earths surface.

Why is the core molten? Why doesnt it cool off? Its been billions of years...

The answer is constantly increasing pressure from an ever increasing quantity of water on the earths surface pushing downward.

I figure youre going to need proof.

Lets take a look at what happened when humans added billions gallons of water where it didnt exist before and see the results....

    Three Gorges Dam

What happened when all those valleys were flooded with water?

Chinese study reveals Three Gorges Dam triggered 3,000 earthquakes, numerous landslides

June 1, 2011 - A study by seismologists at the China Earthquake Administration, a government agency, has confirmed that the massive Three Gorges dam on the Yangtze River has "significantly increased" seismic activity along the dam's reservoir. The study, recently obtained by Toronto-based Probe International, supports Chinese press reports and anecdotal evidence from Chinese citizens living in the vicinity of the Three Gorges Dam, and helps to explain the numerous landslides that have caused havoc in the region, necessitating the evacuation of 300,000 people. Part of the study in Probe International's possession had earlier been published in a Chinese journal.

According to the Chinese study, which Probe International scientists have translated, seismic monitors around the reservoir and in Hubei Province registered 3,429 earthquakes between June of 2003 (when inundation of the reservoir began) and December 31, 2009.

"This represents a 30-fold increase in frequency over the pre-dam period," according to Patricia Adams, executive director of Toronto-based Probe International and English editor of the translated study. "The earthquake activity especially increases when the dam operators rapidly increase or decrease the level of water in the reservoir."

I guess you could say that, if you believed pangaea, covered the entire planet.

Oh a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing massive human made structure caused a change in the local Geology? Shocking.

the core is essentially a gigantic nuclear reactor thats why it hasn't cooled.

All the water on earth including all the ice. Water does not cause the earthquakes.
