    yes, Trump tried to lie to the people in the beginning, attack the experts, but Pence has taken over and now Trump is coming along

    Trump is realizing this is not something he can just say 'fake news' or 'dem hoax' anymore - virus's are not effect by such things

    The governors are only chiming in "praise" because of the actions the administration has taken within the past couple of days, not since the start of when we knew of it. They refused the test kits originally offered by the WHO.

    However, what is most concerning is your last line about not having voted for the past 20+ years. Why should I take your opinion seriously when you are only looking for some idealized candidate? FYI, Unicorns aren't just rare, they're fantasy.

    At this point, it should be fairly apparent he is trying to minimize the death toll, which is a good thing. The problem is the same as what the experts keep saying, we are fighting a fire blind. So that leads to the question; how can the United States, the most powerful nation on earth, have been so poorly prepared by not having the kits needed to gauge the spread and the severity of this pandemic?

    Even with the new revelations that seem to have finally sunk in to the Donald's pee brain, he still can't act like a leader and deliver a serious message without sounding like an MC at a beauty pageant by blurting out nonsensical superlatives left and right. He is still delivering a sales pitch, not a message, and that is not what we need. He should at the very least mimic the experts and follow their cue, but that is apparently beyond his capabilities.

    Democrats are desperate - they know a crisis like this is the only hope their deeply flawed candidates have to win in November; if an economic collapse and hundreds of innocent deaths is what it takes to win the White House, they're OK with it.

    What is not in dispute though is Trump's own downplaying of the virus and contradicting what his team of experts say. That more than anything else is what has created the so-called panic we are seeing now.

    What I find interesting is that none of the Trump loyalists answered the OP question, which leads me to conclude that there is nothing Trump can do to sway them from the cult adoration.

    I'm not looking for an idealized candidate, just someone who isn't abjectly evil.

    But that is only one reason I don't vote, but getting past that barrier would be a beginning.
