Not all of the unaccompanied children are from Mexico.

    Are they Mexican?

These are children. Since when do we turn them out onto the streets of a Mexican border town on their own?

    No.

These are criminals. They weren't invited.

    Then that is Mexico's problem.

Mexico's government is busy fighting drug cartels thanks to America's insatiable need for illegal drugs or is that simply Mexico's problem too?

Obviously it is. If we could get past the criminalization of drugs and the illegal drug business, we would be better off. Then only the drug addicts would suffer from the drugs instead of all of us.

    Wow. Criminals.

Geebus, how low can you go? Got any proof of the criminality of these children? Or are you simply expressing hate for immigrants at the southern border in general?

Federal law makes illegal entry into the U.S. by an alien a crime. That makes them criminals. I don't hate anybody. I want to stop the illegal horde.

Such hatred seems fear-based to me. These are CHILDREN. They don't deserve that.

How did Trump's policies deter people from sending their children alone?

I've heard that most DO show up for their court date.

Doesn't the UN already manage asylum applications for people from their home country? I'd be STUNNED if the international community's only solution for asylum application was for people to travel to another country's border.

Why not legalize it all and put the cartels out of business?

Not if the cartels can under cut the price of marijuana which is what is happening now.

It is happening because of taxation and the fact that marijuana is still illegal in most of America. End the illegality and the cartels will have to move on to something else or disappear.

Legalizing drugs won't make a difference. Cartels control every aspect from growing to distribution to sales. And no taxes. American greed and government taxation will keep prices high.

What bothers me about illegal drugs is not the drugs but the crime surrounding it. Addicts commit crimes to be able to afford the products, the distribution system is rotten to the core. Cleaning that part of it makes sense to me. There is no question that prices would decline. If people want to take drugs that is their business. If they commit crimes in the process that is my business and yours.

I'm not so sure you addressed the price of illegal drugs versus legal drugs. Lower cost drugs (illegal) will continue to be favored over the higher cost legal drugs.
