Maher is right. Democrats aren't making themselves look good to the Electorate.

I don't agree with this. While 2018 was very good Congressional Election for Dems, they already gave some of that back in 2020, whereas 1992 and 2008 were high mark elections. So yes, I expect Dems to give back more, but, it will be mediated by what they already gave back in 2020.

I think it's useful to view these like an incoming wave that takes out the Blue Office holders in Red Districts first and then depending on the strength of the wave, will wash toward the even seats and then if very strong, carry into Blue Districts per the following:

ME 2 R+6 - The Democrat needs to be leading by >6 to take this seat, if less than that, it's vulnerable.

PA 8 R+5

MI 8, WI 3, R+4

Failing to pass their $3.5T spending bill would help them in the upcoming elections. The problem is that their party leadership are nearly all very old geysers, ready to retire, who probably won't be running for reelection, so they want their legacy more than the upcoming majority.

Would you like to give us 'any' reason or 'any' action taken by the democrat party that would make you believe that the dem party is sound and sane? Give us just 'one' for starters.

Well look here, another response devoid of zeroing in on the question at hand. Give it another try if you will: Give me any real policy actions or ideological beliefs of the dem party that would give someone the idea that they are sane and sound? I'll give you extra credit if you can come up with one instance where any radical socialist (which there are many, i.e. bernie sanders) in the dem party has done anything sound and sane concerning economics, race relations, defense of nation, blue city crime, controlling the southern border etc. that benefits all Americans.

the democrats are the same as republicans ... all talk and no action

from 2016 to 2018 the GOP had control of all 3 branches of government

the GOP had only ONE mission during this time..that mission was OWN THE LIBS!!

even with all 3 branches of government the GOP accomplished NOTHING

since the DNC took control 9 months ago they have put forward many ideas and plans

again ..mostly talk, but the mission of the democrats is not to own the conservatives

1. economics..the dems are pushing infrastructure and raising taxes for the billionaires and the huge corporations
does anybody benefit more than amazon when broadband and new roads and bridges are built?? me thinks they should pay,
I pay taxes at a much higher rate that the billionaires ...trump himself thinks it it smart to be a tax cheat..
most people are too poor to be a tax cheat...I say PAY up to the top 1%...every legal worker on a payroll has taxes taken out of their salary

Not surprised that you can't imagine a Christian like myself loving everyone regardless of their politic persuasion. A liberal Bill Maher is the person who gave reasons why people hate Democrats, not me. I'll repeat the reason a chose 'libhater' for my moniker is because of my deep hate for modern day liberalism that on its face is about as anti or at least un-American as it gets. So 'imagining no liberals' for me means that we would have as perfect a nation as possible under total Republican-Conservative rule. So I don't hate liberals, for I love them for being the very people that make we patriotic American loving Righties look so sound and sane. But I would love them even more if they were to leave the America they are currently destroying in every aspect, and go live in another nation like Cuba or Venezuela where they would feel more comfortable with people they politically agree with.
