For the Democrats to now say, now that the Mueller report did not vindicate their two year rampage against Trump, a criminal obstruction to impeach and remove him from office for obstruction of justice that did not occur is the height of a purely political power play again the duly elected President of the United States. What is the distinquintion you are trying to make between the data in the campaign's own polling and that of all the professional, experienced polling companies? What is this data the Russians could ONLY get from Trump campaign internal polling that enabled them manipulate the election and prove they did so. Prove the polling data went to the Russians at all.

 

That is a game plan that will backfire. Stretching this out will not help at the polls and is more likely to hurt.

If the Democrats decide to go "all-in", they need to start impeachment right away...say 90 days. And it will need to be a quick and successful impeachment in the House. Unless some back room deals are made which causes enough Republicans revolt, The Senate will not find a guilty verdict. Basically and the impeachment will mean nothing, but it might hinder Trump's re-election campaign.

If they do not and try to drag the whole impeachment talk until the elections, the voters will be turned off. Independent voters are very important. The Democrats can not win without them. Many of us Independents are sick of hearing about it. All we heard for 2 years was "Wait until the Mueller Report". Well, the report fizzled. Yeah, there is a little bit ammunition in the report, but not enough of substance. If the Democrats keep going down the road of "He said, she said", they will give Trump the elections on a platter.

If the Democrats tone down the "Orange guy bad" narrative, they might win on their own merits.

 

I think you missed a serious point here.

When attacked by Russia, Trump's reaction was to ADVOCATE it and to look for PERSONAL advantage in the attack on our democracy.

And, so far he has done NOTHING to defend America against such an assault being repeated.

And, that IS the narrative that I've been pushing throughout.

He swore: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

It's a high crime and misdemeanor to have FAILED in that most central duty.

 

Why didn't President Obama protect us from it and warn the Trump campaign the Russians were trying to get inside their campaign and help them prevent it? Again, no American including the Americans in the Trump campaign had any knowledge of or participated in ANY Russian attempts to effect the election. PERIOD.

 

Let me ask you a few questions:

Were you surprised that the Russians hacked the DNC and did or attempted to hack Hillary's unsecured personal server? Were you surprised that Russians posted social media "Fake News" in an attempt to influence our elections?. Would you be surprised if the FBI, NSA, CIA and other Government Intelligence Groups would be in the dark about the possibilities of Russian desire to hack political servers and posting "Fake News".

It did not matter who was running. It could have been Cruz and Bernie running and all of this would have happened. That is because it has been going on for decades. No previous President publicly did anything about it, but I'm sure the Intelligence community were still working on thwarting Russian's attempts....just like Trump's administration is as well.

 

Obama did make some moves, but by the time it started becoming understood, it was close enough to the election that any significant action would look like Obama was tilting an election.

Besides, Trump was HAPPY with Russian intervention. Any claim that Trump would have taken action against Russia is just plain stupid.

The Mueller report shows that Trump was HAPPY with Russian intervention!!

As long as the Russian attack on America was benefitting him personally, he was FINE with it.
