    This is a joke?
    Why so discriminating?
It's absolutely over the top with bias the idea that you through everything including the kitchen sink on the Democratic side and can only come up with fox and am radio on the otherside speaks volumes of your ability to apply critical thinking skills to both sides. I reject your post as any form of truth. Either accept reality or continue to live in ignorance.

    No I don't mean theoretically.
    I mean empirical.
Your opinion is just that opinion. If there is such a vast differance then you would be all about providing the prof. Not just cherry picking the facts that supports your contempt.
It would be cool if there were an actual score board.[/QUOTE]

I think the same about you. Your preconceived contempt is not representative of the truth.

It’s a blatant money grab / hope they will settle / free publicity from the red hats. Not surprised

The courts just limited a wrongful death cancer lawsuit from $289M to $78M and even that number is under appeal.

trumpets do seem to have an overinflated sense of value though.
Maybe he thinks he’s worth it. He’s not

    Where did I say that? I didn’t and haven’t

I don’t think anyone has said it was ok to post threatening or identifying information by the MSM. Especially not anyone with any credibility

    He still isn’t worth $250M

Smirking conservative twits of all ages are an over-abundant commodity at the mo.

We'll hear crickets when this idiotic suit is tossed...

On what grounds would the suit be dismissed?

Most of the lawyers that have reviewed the merits of the case say there are not any — several have referred to it as a “story complaint”. They are being sued for malicious character defamation which requires intent and a lie. Seeing that they also posted stories like Viral standoff between a tribal elder and a high schooler is more complicated than it first seemed indicates they were just reporting on the news as it became available to them. Several law firms that specialize in right-wing causes such as the firm representing the Proud Boys has said “I’m not saying the kids, especially Sandmann, weren’t treated atrociously at multiple levels, and that they had a pretty unpleasant week of life, But I don’t understand how the harm here can be quantified coherently.”

Now if they were suing some of the people that called on them to be harmed or even the ones that released personal information they might have a bigger case — but they went after the one with the biggest pockets or as the attorney representing Sandmann called it “vast financial resources” — in hopes of a multi-million dollar settlement. $250 million is just absurd, even 1% of that is absurd.

CD beat me to it. :)

It's a ridiculous nuisance suit with no chance of prevailing.

I hope he is granted a huge award. One that makes media more cautious about irresponsible reporting.

If the kid was wearing an Obama hat, and the fake veteran a MAGA hat you would be singing a different story when the facts came out. You know, I know it, everybody on this forum knows it. You are driven by whatever aligns with your partisan agenda.

It is a slam dunk libel/slander suit. I can't see any way for WaPo to effectively defend itself. They should have apologized, corrected and begged for mercy as soon as the whole video was discovered.

I doubt that the jury will award $250 mil - but you never know.

I hope he wins for defamation. Somebody needs to teach these news outlets to stop molding stories to fit their political bias. If you mis-characterize somebody's actions and slander them... especially incorrectly, you should expect to have to write a check for the damages. Good. Pay up.

That's just political spin. The case is very strong, the liability clear, and the damage award will be very high - but probably less than $250 mil.
Juries are hard to predict, but most ordinary people despise Fake News and will probably be inclined to punish a news paper that had defamed a minor.
