But you support every Republican idea on this board.

    Odd huh?

And no...you are not the Donors that this tax cut is aimed at.

It's the Adelsons and Mercers...the REAL power behind the GOP

So you know that the Donor Relief Act is going to do nothing for anyone who isn't rich...and you just don't care.

You don't even care that it will raise as lot of middle class folks taxes

You don't care that it adds 1.5 trillion to the debt.

    Ooookayyyy

    1% of $10,000,000 income is $100,000.

    1% of $100,000 income is $1,000

Who gets the biggest tax cut?

So you're claiming a 1% tax cut across he board?

Where is that in the Donor Relief Act?

I must say the temporary tax cuts for the middle class is pure genius. From now on the middle class must vote in a Republican majority to have them renew the middle class tax cuts.

We'll see how much of a tax cut if any we get.

From what I've seen it'll be an increase for most middle class homeowners and an unnoticeable tax cut for anyone not rich.

And then when republicans start screaming about all the money they just added to the debt...there will be cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security.

    That should get votes huh?

    You are so funny.

I take it your family are those who get Obamacare free or next to nothing? Everyone else gets screwed by high premiums and high deductibles. A big reason millions would rather pay the penalty.

    Who does this bill hurt?

    That's whats so funny.

The poor don't even pay income tax.

Something like 45% of people in the US either pay nothing or actually earn money from their federal returns.

I wonder when some of the detractors will start to engage the more rational part of their brains. Why would Republicans assure they would get no votes from people farther down the economic scale, but purposefully trying to screw them over?

It's like the EPA/Pollute the world meme. Last time I checked, Republicans breath the same air, have children who want to play in water, etc.. But to the left, Republicans want to destroy everything, and I guess themselves. Really stupid emotional arguments being made over and over.

The ACA was a Partisan Bill created by both parties of Congress with 170 or so Republicans amendments.

The Tax Bill a important piece of Legislation for Americans was pushed thru without debate, under secrecy and created only to
enable 52 Republicans to keep their Jobs. It removes Health Care, education and home deductions.

The deficit that President Obama added to was to pull America out of the Great Recession created by Republicans.........

Chuck, don't get me wrong, I think the tax bill sucks. Also, while there were hearings, meetings etc. on the ACA, there isn't much partisanship about a bill which, if memory serves me right, didn't have one Republican vote in either the House or Senate.

You are right no Republicans voted for the ACA however they had and took the opportunity to shape the bill for their electorate.

Since then the Congress on both sides are doing only what they need to do in order to get re elected.

No matter of consequences that fall on Americans.

I do think we need Tax Reform... but by taking the easy way out.........voting by reconciliation rules....they are forced to create bad legislation that only hurts Americans.

Well I agree, everyone should get a rate reduction. It should be substantial. However, people who pay little would still get little reduction in the actual dollar ammount of tax paid, because a large percentage of a small number is still a small number

So the bottom line...is that the only things that are certain here...are that the rich are going to get a big tax cut and those tax cuts are going to have to be paid for...and Republicans are saying they will pay for them by cutting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Beyond that no one knows. Some middle class folks may get a small tax cut and many will get a tax increase.

Oh and let's not forget that stuffing repeal of the ACA individual mandate into the bill will add 10% to insurance premiums

Adding 1.5 trillion is a guess and an opinion by those who never met a tax they didn't like. Don't let them sway you. Time will prove their opinion wrong. History has proven that Obama's policies doubled the debt by adding more than all the previous presidents combined. That is a pitiful record for any president. Trump has a better idea. A roaring economy and full employment will add trillions to the treasury. Rather than the government paying out they will be receiving. Accounting 101.

Wrong...Dems are consistent. They always work to keep the debt as low as makes sense. You'll note that Clinton produced a surplus and when Bush came into office Republicans couldn't spend that surplus and more...fast enough.

What CHANGES are Republicans. When they are not in power...they scream DEFICITS!!!!! and shut down the government...

When they are in power they cut taxes for the rich (primarily) and totally disregard that same deficit that only matters when they aren't in power.
