    What's more stupid?

The feds spending more than $22 billion to help California Progressives build the worst boondoggle in modern history, "High Speed Rail".

And people whine about protecting the countries borders?

Ideological neophytes squawking about issues they have no clue about.

So you thought a comment about something you clearly know nothing about was going to make a point?

    LOL

That's a big part of Trump's problems. He tells a lie to get some votes, but he doesn't like it when people expect him to make good on his lies.

Right....no way they could ever figure out a way around, over or under a wall. So cute.

We have to make it so they won't have a desire to come here at all. Going after the businesses that hire illegals is the best way. No jobs = no reason to come here.

We should do both. A wall and enforcing the law.

Don't need to do both. Steep fines and/or prison time for business owners who hire illegals will be enough. No need wasting tax payers money on a wall too. I thought conservatives were supposed to be fiscally responsible???

The wall is not about immigration - it isn't about stopping people from illegally coming to America. It is all about Trump building something that will, forever, have his name on it. It will guarantee his place in history. A 'wall' is not the most effective way to stop illegal immigration, but it is - in his mind - the most 'impressive'. He campaigned on the fact that HE was going to build a big, beautiful wall. He talked about the fact that he has built big, beautiful hotels - so he is the right person to build that big, beautiful wall. And he said that Mexico would pay for it - demonstrating his outstanding negotiation skills. So - wall isn't being built, by the great Builder in Chief, and it isn't being paid for by Mexico, because of the Negotiator in Chief.

I do agree - going after the business owners who hire the illegals is the cheapest way to go. It addresses the root cause, rather than providing a barrier.

So true. In fact, politicians on BOTH sides don't actually care about the immigration issue. Oh sure...they SAY they do, but that's only to appease their sheep. If they really cared they'd have gone after business owners decades ago to put a stop to illegals coming here.

    Are you sure it's necessary?

Please. There won't be troops or a wall there.

    I accept your concession.

There are troops there ... and the embedded link you couldn't figure out, has PICTURES too. Now the photo I provided of the palletized concertina ... that's actually a deployment mechanism, not a shipping config. Combat engineers can deploy miles of that fence quickly, over any terrain.

Why do you keep voting for a political party that keeps your OWN wages low?

It's economics, and amazing that dems do that to themselves.

There won't be any concertina wire over that terrain I promise you. You're living in a Trump created fantasy world.

I'm a former combat engineer, and no terrain is unmanageable. Tell me more about the fantasy world wher US troops haven't been actively fortifying the southern border. I haven't any cave drawings of these recent events, and so have no idea what other visual aid I could provide. Trump has $1.6 bn to spend so it's a done deal.

    To your topic question ...
"Can anything be more stupid then Trumps border wall"

This is almost impossible, that there is something more idiotic.

No, my dear right-wingers ... of course, the US must protect its borders against illegal border crossings and illegal immigrants adequately and that's not the topic or the reason why I say as a well-informed Foreigner, this "wall" wants to build the Trump superfluous and idiotic like a woodpecker with a rubber beak!

You already have a wall or at least a damn high fence with cameras, patrols, motion sensors and everything that goes with them in much of the border with Mexico! And yet there are illegal crossings and tunneling etc.
And in the areas where this is not, it is deserted areas, haleb deserts, berigiges terrain, etc. where a wall brings even less!

No ... the wall Trump wants to build is just mindless and stupid chatter, which brings no improvement!
Rather, it's about. To strengthen the Border Patrol staff and give them more and better equipment to provide the service more effectively.

But that's not what the jerk at the White House is talking about, just from his stupid wall that does not work!

That concertina wire is for setting up camps to process the illegals Mr. Combat Engineer. The idea of stretching concertina wire along a wild stretch of the border like that is laughable.
