It’s a fair question. Considering there are currently no laws citing being a moron as prohibited from owning a gun, the people and their elected representatives have already spoken. We don’t allow felons access to firearms... the criteria for determining that is simple and clear. The term moron is often assigned to people that disagree with a position held by someone invoking the term. I wager from time to time that term has been applied to nearly every politician of every persuasion. As such it is an arbitrary label and not something that can be objectively determined, something, by the way, meaning it’s use would be capricious and thereby, according to the Heller vs DC, ruling as in violation of the 2A.

I know it's rather harsh to voice in this hyper sensitive PC culture of ours, however, prophylactically insulating US society from firearm accident, death or murder is not a priority here! Freedom, liberty and independence are the priorities here! When Di Fi, Obama, Harris etc. etc. (many here on PF as well) pull out their violins with the 'if it saves even one life' mantra; remind them of the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS that have died & sacrificed in securing & maintaining our freedoms.

Coincidentally, as the framers wisely pointed out, our greatest threat to freedom, liberty & independence is from within; Not foreign invasion. Marinate on that before y'all go 'ape sh't raving mad' on me , lol. I so enjoy the historic letters between Jefferson & Adams, so much poignant truth lies there which would be so helpful to re-visit in this nation of divide & upheaval from within.
