if they want to be a private Christian club, they can do that, but if they want to be a public business open to everyone, they can't discriminate

    - - - Updated - - -

if their faith says they need to discriminate, then they need to open private clubs

their other option is not refuse to print all wedding invitations regardless of the gender of the couple

if they do not take that simple step, their faith is weak

This wouldn't even make a blip on the radar when it comes to problems happening in Chile.

Chile is an overwhelming Christian nation. The majority of the people in Chile support gay civil unions.
Sounds like it's a Christian vs. Christian problem more than a gay person issue.

People say the same thing about the cakes. "Tell them they can't fit it in, they are booked".

We are talking about Christians here. Not liars.

They have my full support to refuse service to anyone they choose... unless they lie about it. Because then they are no different than the people they are refusing.

Although I don't agree with their decisions, I support them... and they owe people nothing more than a "Sorry, but no".

They should have sinned in opposition to something else they consider a sin? Not only would they be selling our their own principals but in the eyes of God sin is sin; they would be worthy of the same treatment as gays.

Really? Whatever, you tryin to tell me Christians don't lie?

I do get that they should not have to lie and that it is a matter of principals so I hope the printer wins. I also believe it was a set up.

    No one has claimed that.

The point is... lying about it is no better than the people they are refusing to serve.

In other words... it's dumb to say "The Christians should have just lied and said they were busy".

What function does speculating on intent serve when we cannot read the minds of others?

Then there is the option created by the First Amendment. Government is commanded to create no law that either establishes a religion or PROHIBITS THE FREE EXERCISE THEROF. You know, the part the homofascist bullies always seem to forget.

doesn't mean you can break the law, you can't stone people either

if you can't run a public business without discriminating, make it a private club, or don't sell that one item you have issues with

you have options, you just have to use them

    ....

A printer puts ink on pages, so long as the particular arrangement of ink is not illegal, his job is to produce copies, not edit or approve the output.

if they made it a private club, they would as they would know it wasn't open to the public at large

Their option is to tell the gay couple they're too busy to print their crap on time and refer them to someone else.

And before that, the right had their own suppression. Being LGBT got you blacklisted, even though nobody chooses their sexual orientation. During the 50s-60s, Communists were regularly witchhunted.

All of our hands are dirty because society is warfare.I happen to be on the side of the oppressed classes rather than the oppressors.

bearing false witness to Christians is not a thing I guess, you would think they would care about more about one of the top 10 sins

why not just be good little business people and print the invites and move on instead of being such hateful jerks? much easier and the kinder thing to do

what do you think Jesus would do, be a jerk or do the polite thing and print their invites?

You should learn scripture before quoting it erroneously. False witness would be me testifying I saw you do something you didn't. Telling you a fib so you don't sue me because of my faith is just fine with me.

"what do you think Jesus would do, be a jerk or do the polite thing and print their invites?."

I think he would strike them dead with a lightening bolt.

I would just tell these fools I don't have time to print their nonsense, and it's tyrannical I would even have to say that...

Businesses can serve who they want when they want...

Of course if "liberals" were really "liberal" they would adhere to that idea...

Follow the law and you won't get sued for discrimination. It really is that simple.

There is no religious text that says though shall not print things for homos.

Businesses are not people. Fun fact. A printer is not a person either.

    "
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

More Marxist regulations that get lawyers rich, and punish freedoms.

Where is your proof that we do not choose our sexual preferences? Sex is a behavior, not a necessity like food and water.
