Then perhaps the best course of action available is to simply cease arguing with someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

Further proof that only the police and military should have guns.

This is one incident out of nearly 900,000 cops who don't accidently shoot anyone. If you're going to argue for either police or gun reform, you need stats, not one off stories that can be dismissed as anecdotes.

Correction, little else. From time to time they do have force on force training.

She did what 90% of gun owners would have done returning to their Home at night and finding someone there.

That's what happens when you give a democrat a badge and a gun.

Great then you have more examples of lawful gun owners entering the wrong house and shooting the person who lives there.

90% of gun owners go to the wrong home, do they?

This I know you don't from you has worn thin. I suggest you rethink it because there isn't a hint of evidence it's so.

Don't talk to me about "wearing thin". You post nothing but snide, derogatory posts without a shred of evidence to back up your attitude. You just lurk on the boards looking for excuses to vomit your bile, insult your betters, and then whine when you get blown out of the water by simple fact.

    Hilarious preacher boy.

Your I know you don't has long since worn thin and gotten to the point where you actually believe it. It isn't true. Get a grip on it. Stop preaching to others.

You are not the harbinger of truth. The sooner you figure that out, the better off you'll be.

    GCAs often hate two things

    1) not knowing much about guns (thus becoming victims in debates to "gunsplaining") -this happens because politics, not understand firearms, is what motivates most anti gun activists (which is why almost all of them vote for the candidates the NRA opposes)

    2) that almost all of us have credentials in shooting sports, law enforcement or gunsmithing while most GCAs have none

If you want to make sure you get the wrong information about gun laws, and firearms, ask a cop.

^^^^ To which I say, of course.

Totally unexplainable arrogance. I mean with some people you understand why they might be arrogant, but you......................why, what's the point?

It's well known how bad many cops are in regards to their shooting abilities. I mean....why would we have people who carry guns be well trained??? :)

You'd have to ask the politicians in charge. In some places they hate cops in general and refuse to provide them proper resources. Others just find the idea of gun in general distasteful, so they want to train the cops as social workers whose guns are just badges of office that should never leave the holster. Some are simply so ignorant of training methods that they order the bureaucrats to create arbitrary standards that mean nothing whatsoever in regards to real-world confrontations.

It is very rare to have a department put forth a serious training regimen for its officers, nor do they give officers any incentives to pursue true skill. They'll even discourage officers who seek training on their own time from doing so, out of fear that they'll face greater liability for having "gunfighters" wearing the badge (ask me how I know about THAT one).

It's sad, but if you want officers to be well trained you need to bring in REAL instructors with REAL world experience and give them the resources to see all the officers properly trained... AND you need to provide incentives to rank-and-file officers to pursue that training, plus providing paid time for them to undertake that training.

So long as we let politics dictate training, this problem will continue.
