Looks like what David Hogg did worked like a charm on social media and it is Laura Ingraham who was not only forced to apologize but mocked on twitter when she dishonestly invoked "holy week".

He's a child. He isn't the one who went into that school and murdered 17 people. You attack an innocent person a hundred times more than you attack the person who murdered so many people. What the hell is wrong with that scenario?

People who have experienced a mass shooting have the right to say whatever the hell they want, as far as I'm concerned. He isn't the one who took a gun into that school and murdered people. He's one of the ones who experienced the fear and insanity of being a target. And don't say he wasn't there: it is proven he was indeed there. Stop listening to propaganda.

School shootings are not the only crimes to be considered.

Sadly, the truth has been made clear to us.

To NRA-types, their guns and their right to buy more guns (of virtually any style they wish) are more important to them then the murder of dozens of innocent children.

Sadly, we now know that for a fact.

No Thelma, it is you who are deflecting when I showed proof that your post saying England and Europe are so much safer is false. Just be a big girl, admit you were wrong and move on. I guess it only matters to you if a mass killing is from guns. Europe has plenty of mass killings, they just use other methods.

I have been to England many, many times--and Wales, and Scotland, and Ireland. The UK is not as dangerous as the US. Period. End of.

Those stats are very suspect, but it probably has to do with bad neighborhoods and people who live a certain kind of lifestyle. I don't go to bad neighborhoods or live a crapy lifestyle. That is true in the States too. I don't understand people who have 'home invasions' or are afraid to live without a gun: do you live in bad neighborhoods? Because unless you do, or hang out in them, the likelihood of having a home invasion is less likely than being abducted by a flying saucer.

Yeah, why? It was trying to prove a meme was incorrect and they came up with their own data. I posted the data they came up with. The only problem is they said it's hard to compare data from different countries but it does show England is not as peaceful as Thelma says it is.

How long has it been since you were last there? I hear London is getting bad. If so, that is not much different than the US, the vast majority of homicides are in the big cities.

I have never used a gun in self defense and I have never used the huge fire extinguisher I keep in the garage. But, in both cases I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

We know that banning the AR-15 will not prevent svhool shooting but metal detectors and police who are not cowards will

Yes but just because you are a victim doesn’t mean you can’t be a prick.

Tasteless but funny just the same.

Hogg's and a couple other Parkland poster children are already complaining about being passed over for college admissions. Future NYU / Berkeley grads, sociology majors. Petty liberal bureaucrat written all over them. Hogg should research just how many less qualified applicants, with much lower SAT & GPA scores have been accepted where he's been denied. Dems never miss an opportunity to play identity politics, and Hoggs "whiteness" makes him a desirable canary in a coal mine.

Of course you are attacking gun ownership

Only guns used in mass shootings huh?

One of the guns used at Columbine was a shothun

In others it was a hand gun

Other killers have used bolt action rifles, bombs and trucks

There were 26 shooting deaths in Britain in 2016. Taking population differences into account, that means that you are still four times more likely to die in a gun accident in America, than be shot on purpose in Britain.

We are not the U.K. We have a distinct history and culture. Apples and oranges.

I have not listened to him at all. I don't have the news turned on 24 hours a day. I don't give a flying **** what he says: he is not any worse than the RWrs defending gun rights or the NRA, and by far he is not as bad as the guy who killed 17 people, yet you treat him as if he were the most evil human being on the planet. Get a ****ing life.

He is only 18. He is getting the tone of debate from his elders: the right and the left as well. If you expect him to be better, that's irrational. If you think the tone of debate is of a higher level on the right than that of the left, you are deaf in your right ear.

It has been within the past few years. The crime problem in London is in bad neighborhoods and is not firearm related. I don't go to bad neighborhoods and don't hang out with bad people. And I behave in the same way in the US or anywhere else. Just common sense.

You can't compare everyday items, like fire extinguishers, to guns: it is a false equivalency/a logical fallacy.

These points don't address the real issue. We cannot continue to let innocent people and school children be considered just collateral damage. We need to stop mass shootings: that is the bottom line.
