    It means that Trump's reliance on blind partisanship to save him from removal is in peril. Numbers like 17% might not be enough incentive for Republicans in Congress to sell off their country. In my personal opinion, I've always thought the threshold would be around 30%. 17% is extremely encouraging. Other polls place them in the mid 20s I think that's a pretty good sign too.

    There are some people who simply don't care. They are some who are so brainwashed that even if Trump explicitly committed treason against the US they would support him. They would proudly denounce the US and swear allegience only to Trump if he asked them too.

    I mean it wasn't so long ago that polls showed that 51% of Republicans would support suspending elections in 2020 and making Trump President for life.

    If you're going to make up a wild conspiracy theory about Biden's son initiating the Steele dossier when he was in Ukraine, you'd have to make your case first.

    But not here. This thread is about Trump's call Which we know he made, because he confessed. I believe the most appropriate place for you to do this would be somewhere like the "Extraterrestrials and Monsters" Forum or something like that.... But that's up to you. Definitely not this thread, though.

    Where did you get the idea that Biden wrote the bogus dossier ??

    Trump stated that he wanted corruption investigated. Biden bragged about committing corruption. And Trump is the bad guy ??

    No idea where you read the word "wrote", but this just proves that your reading skills are as lamentable as your writing skills.

    No! He stated that he wanted Biden investigated. He gave "corruption" as a pre-established fact and starting point which Zelensky was free to "ignore" if he didn't actually need the missiles..

    I'm not going to explain this to Trump cultists. Their numbers are low and falling. So why even try?

    No...it was U.S. policy. Biden pressured the President of the Ukraine into firing a pro-Russian prosecutor who was NOT investigating corruption. Ukraine needed the money...not just the U.S. funding, but EU and IMF funding as well. No one wanted to go ahead with the loans/grants until they were sure it wouldn't go into the pockets of pro-Russian oligarchs.

    He absolutely was investigating corruption. Ukraine had no idea that the US money was held up. But Biden specifically threatened that ~$1B would not be given unless the prosecutor was fired.

    You need to look at the timeline. The Biden threat to block aid was certainly known by the Ukrainian President, that's why the Persecutor was dismissed...a termination supported by the Ukrainian Parliament. But that was three years ago. Whether or not the present President knew about Trump's blocking appropriated aid is a question mark...although the conversation seems to indicate he did. Certainly, he knew AFTER the call. And, the aid was restored only after the Whistle Blower issue came up...i.e. when they got caught.

    Possible, but unlikely. The hold-up in funds occurred approximately one week before their July 25th telephone call. The Whistle Blower wrote his/her memo on August 12th. Funding was released on September 20th. The transcript of the call was released on September 24th, the day before he met with Zelensky at the U.N. on September 25th. If Zelensky didn't know about the release of the funds until October 20th...he's mastered the science of time travel.

    The other factor is that it was all over US news sources that congress was upset about the mysterious hold on the aid. Requires one to believe nobody in Ukraine has access to CNN or YouTube. Total flub defense, with the plausibility of a western sunrise....:roll:

    I appreciate the "even if Trump explicitly committed treason" statement! It's not often I read something so magnanimous on this site! It's generally "Trump HAS", so this is like having a slice of pie and two scoops of French vanilla ice cream..
