Boris and the UK are apparently more friendly to free press than the Biden administration. Watching this makes you wonder if Biden is fit for president.

Biden does not have the cognitive ability to be President, but he does make his own decisions...occasionally. If his handlers don't like want he's saying or doing they quickly cover up for him and make decisions for him.

 

Less him/her and more like committee, BUT....NO MEAN TWEETS AND THE WORLD "RESPECTS" US AGAIN!

 

He doesn't need cognitive skills. He has competent people who can perform their tasks whether he's capable or not.

Biden has been a politician a long time. I am sure at one time he had the mental and cognitive ability to be president. Whether he does or not at his current age I do not know. I have long advocated age limit for politicians but it seems most people here disagree. I have been called ageist for even proposing such an idea and have been told there are many older people that show no mental decline and that presidents have to go through rigorous medical tests. Yet since Biden election I have seen tons of arm chair doctors here accusing Biden of being senile posting video clips as evidence. If you think this is a problem do not vote for old people. Kick those dinosaur politicians out of congress. Support rules to limit the age of all politicians. We have age minimums what not maximums?

See this is the consequence to so lowering the intellectual and moral standards of the presidential office, by nominating Trump twice, so that ANYONE looks competent and ANYONE can show greater moral authority than the standard set in the previous four years.

"Competent" at what? Surely not at being President. Maybe you mean he was really good at lying and self-dealing?

 

Presidents are not really responsible for anything dramatic in economic cycles, at least not any in their first two to three years. They really only begin to have any impact years after their policies begin to affect changes in long term business plans and that impact is severely diluted. It takes a cumulative effect after years of consistency in tax policy, and budgets, and foreign policy that a President in conjunction with Congress, and with state governors and state legislatures to do much more than mitigate the effects of the macro economy.

You can begin to give him a slice of credit or blame down the road if his policies make it a little better - or a little less bad - than otherwise.

 

A word of advice: if you are going to call anyone else, "brain dead," you should get proofreading help from someone who knows the difference between the spellings for a person who pays for room & board, in your home, and the territorial demarcation, as between two countries, which is: B-O-R-D-E-R.

Let me propose a deal to you. The President's legislating agenda for his term is, at the moment, at loggerheads, in Congress, w/ Progressive Democrats vowing not to vote for the bipartisan infrastructure deal, w/o the Reconciliation bill, and moderate/conservative Dems committed to not vote on Reconciliation before voting on the bipartisan bill.

Additionally, we have the entire Republican Party vowing the unheard of, un-American, & sublimely hypocritical course of allowing our country to go into default on its debt obligations. Not to mention having droves of immigrants at our southern border, spurred on by the effects of climate change, which has been largely unaddressed by prior administrations, and our being in the midst of a serious, criminal cyber attack, on our food supply infrastructure.

But today, Biden has several meetings with the Congressional Dems, who have not been able to resolve their differences. So my deal is this: with everything at so precarious a state, and facing a horde of serious problems (& let's not forget the pandemic), if Biden is able to masterfully work out the impasse among Dems, so that he gets both parts of his infrastructure initiative passed, and also makes sure we avoid defaulting on our debt, then you will agree to not question his mental abilities, for the balance of his term. Deal?

 

No, simply because he can’t even answer questions in a coherent manner so what makes you think that if all that was done it would be done by him? Someone else is doing the negotiating. No way he has the ability to do it.
