I'm encouraged to eat sardines as very good for flushing old arteries.

I’m the same way. I try to eat on a regular basis but sometimes my job does not allow for it and I’ll go up to 12 hours without eating. Usually stress mitigates feeling hungry but I still feel like crap.

That's not good.. Can't you sort of graze on nuts and fruit between meals?

The problem is that food is expensive in America and many Americans can't afford to avoid processed foods.

I do fine without eating if I’m not active like driving all day. I’m also fine if I’m doing hard physical labor. But when it’s just moderate physical activity I can get “foggy” mentally. Especially if I’m sleep deprived.

For me anyway, sleep deprivation and hard physical labor turns me into a calorie burner. I’ll eat 4500+ calories a day and lose weight.

I think at one point scientists tried telling the public processed foods were super healthy.
Everything in moderation and when I can't do moderation, I just don't keep it around.
If I could eat fish 5 days a week I would. Yesterday I had half a jar pickled herring and a big bowl of pistachios.

Gummy bears are like eating fake food, but they do have some flavor & aren't as bad as those gross little things in bubble tea.

I have taken some stuff up in the jet with me but of course that’s not a whole lot when I’m up for a long time.

Mama said clean your plate. There were no snacks between meals ever, so you did without much prodding. It was always milk, never pop.

For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige. One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

Too funny, in the age of banned bovine flatulance & all... :)

I'm a 1st gen. Persian Iranian Millennial who has more than a little experience w/ raising beef from the W-coast scrub mesas to the lush & fleetingly green pasture grasses of New England... Markets are ever in flux, however, the "prime" always demands a commanding price - regardless... It's not all that much of a secret, at this point, but some of us have done quite well w/ "Organic" - specifically on the E-coast w/ a Piedmontiese crossed w/ Angus beef strain... Sure, I'm lucky enough to have my personal freezers stocked from what's grazing outside the SW ranch / NE farmhouse windows. Belted Galloway / Angus strains are also very well selling in the E-coast 'niche' markets.

Regardless - prob. the most healthy way to consume the small amt. of 'blood - red' meat ea. day is in the form of what the Germans called 'Tartare'; - thin strips of pure (raw) beef flesh untainted & immediately eaten, before impurities can contaminate the sliced up delicacy... I was raised on it & continue to promote it, "if done in the purest of forms"...

I praise those who enjoy such a fine delicacy but mine has to be salted and dried over fire.

This. I do well for myself and only have to feed myself, and it still pains me how expensive produce is. I don’t know how families do it unless they fall victim to the overly processed foods, canned produce that has been soaking in sugar-water and the junk food that is always on sale.
