I've been on hiring boards. Of course there are women who get jobs because they are the best person for the job. But I've also seen attempts to hire women who are less qualified for a job than a male, but there are women on the hiring boards that show in group preferences, wanting the woman to get the job over more qualified men due to in group preference.
I can understand men are just as unlikely to want a dangerous job as a woman. They just have fewer choices and have to take them resulting in that 95% job related death stat.
Between food stamps, housing allowance, etc., yes, welfare amounts for some $70K in cash and benefits. Rent of a 2 bedroom apartment is around $2K a month by itself where I am at.
Gaffes sometimes expose real thinking. I do not doubt there are people at the top that have real biases and blind spots. Biden also said poor people are just as smart as white people. There's some kind of bias in there.
I am part of the MRA movement. At a minimum, I hope to make people aware of what is going on.
What all this means to the topic: men are biased against in the work force by affirmative action. End the bias, lower costs to doing business while giving people the freedom to make the most money with whoever they want to hire and see the cost of doing business drop, making the US more competitive in a global market, more jobs, higher wages for everyone. And more justice too.

I just looked up the Urban Dictionary definition for MRA. Are you sure that’s what you are?

Not in accordance with that dictionary. Of course not. The left and mainstream see Men's Rights Activists as red pilling men, making them harder to exploit and harm, so of course they speak of them in the most derogatory of ways. They don't want their slaves walking off the plantation. In the UK there was recently an MRA gathering by an established group with a website. The Website tells of what they are about. More fair divorce laws. End male circumcision. Reduce the incidence of male suicide. With these public positions, the UK MSM still described the group as, "an anti-Feminist group".

Apropos cirumcision, my son isn’t but I have friends who did have their sons circ’ed so that they would look like Dad.
I think men need to speak up about this barbaric practice.
Any suicides are tragic and should not happen. Our mental health resources are always underfunded, and men need to be able to ask for help. Not just soldier on.

Truth is something that one should offer, acknowledge, and welcome, not have shoved down their throat in the name of justice.

It is time to reward merit on the content of character rather than the color of one's skin........(always has been) Reverse racism is simply unacceptable.

I am circumcised as is my son. Then I looked into it further and agree. This is a barbaric practice. I told both of my kids, should they provide me a grandson, do not circumcise him on my behalf. Thank you for your thoughtful response.

I have to tell that to all the women doctors and lawyers and accountants and stock brokers and Harvard and Yale grads.
It is obvious you know nothing about AA ! women needed it because they were denied what I just mentioned. Did you think the white men who didn’t have to compete with more than half the population were not up to standard too? If someone isnt qualified they shouldn’t be hired. White males too. Affirmative action is necessary for diversity.your problem is assuming blacks and women aren’t qualified...and that is what has held us back for generations
You obviously twist things to suit your prejudices like thanking me for saying affirmative action is ridiculous...you know I never said that!

Contrary, it is clear to me you are oblivious to the consequences of Affirmative Action. There are plenty of women who do very well without it... simply because they are good enough. People like you will destroy our economies with your misguided ideas

Yes there are plenty of women who do very well and they would not be doing very well if there wasn’t affirmative action. I know all about affirmative action and I know all about the opportunities that women were denied for hundreds of years. Do you think that women are doing well now because suddenly patriarchy allowed them equality in the workplace? Equality in education? I know you would like to go back to the good old days where women were denied opportunities because after all these bad women are just destroying our economies

Oh look there's a woman doing well... must be Affirmative Action... are you suggesting a woman couldn't do well without Affirmative Action... that would be sexist.

I think you are brainwashed, most of your "patriarchy" demons are monsters under the bed.

It's a shame they're not made aware of this stuff by parents, at home. A parent doesn't need to be in the same field, or even educated at all, to find out what's required for such courses. It's all readily available information.

They are for many courses. And even those that require a bit more than just that mark, their interest beyond it is limited unless it's a super high demand course (like medicine).

Good god .. what a stupid reason to mutilate a baby!

Mental health resources are a 'cure' (and not an especially good one), and we should be looking at prevention. Prevention starts in the home, when little boys are taught resilience, fun, responsibility, and outward focus. The more we enable little boys to indulge emotions and self-interest, the more suicides we'll see.

Yep, those imaginary demons that denied women opportunities they can enjoy now we’re dragged out from under the bed by men and women who realized the reality of lack of opportunities.
You’re the one who believes that a woman doing well must be affirmative action. Just shows what women can do when given the chance ... I guess you think that women were really stupid for hundreds of years and suddenly got smart

    Of course I do...

And that is essentially the problem here.... Your whole belief system is built on "I'm right and if you disagree you must be evil"

There is no consideration for consequences... the end result of Affirmative Action... and we will all pay the price

You used to be able to get into medicine at UNSW(I think) via an assessment.
I can’t find a reference so maybe it’s not available any more.

I really enjoy your projection that I think if you disagree with me you must be evil. I don’t think like that but your projection is very telling. Obviously I don’t think like you do
Yes you will pay the price for affirmative action and that will be these uppity blacks and women in professions they were banned from and making history

Before civil rights and women’s movement women and minorities made up about 5% of med school and now it’s more than half.
My cousin went to Cornell Law school and she was one of two women now it’s half women. It didn’t happen in a vacuum
