If the current administration asks for those documents back, why should the former administration be allowed to keep it?

What being circulated is that Trump lawyers signed a statement asserting that all documents had been returned a few months back.

Congress cannot legislate away the Presidents plenary power to declassify information. Go back and read what I post. And as I posted above the SCOTUS had ruled on that and yes it is under his complete authority. Try getting things right this time.

You get a venue change on order of a federal district judge, not the magistrate judge who approved the warrant. There are both mandatory (fair trial) and permissive (convenience) bases for changing venue.

I personally don't think this case is going anywhere unless Jared Kushner testifies that Trump bragged at dinner about having nuclear secrets in a safe and told everyone he planned to sell them to North Korea.

Read some of the "mishandling" cases. They are often blown out of proportion by the liberal media, and then they fizzle. The cases, not the media.

Why would he have to "re-classify" documents that were never declassified?

 

You see how much backlash this raid has caused? They thought Trump would hand them over peacefully and probably have been negotiating for months to prevent the situation we see today. It's quite apparent they tried to work this out diplomatically, but Trump and his lawyers continued to hide what documents they were truly in possession of.

Why didn't Garland cause a media circus back in February when Trump first handed over documents? Why not just execute a raid then if he wanted to tarnish Trump's name?

If Garland decide to execute a warrant at Mar-a-lago after 1 month of negotiating, the right wing media would spinning the story as he jumped the gun and didn't bargain for those documents long enough.
