were you asleep for two decades? never had a tv? no internet?
Iraq had no WMDs, everywhere the UN inspectors were directed by US intelligence they found nothing, and nothing was ever found afterward...

left loves dictators, you mean like the bromance between the bloated orange man and Putin, little Kim or MSB? all three murderous tyrants beloved by the donald...

Because they never found any weapons of mass destruction. It was one of the biggest scandals in world history. And it irreparably damaged the reputation of America for decades to come.

Anyway, the concept of "weapons of mass destruction" is totally arbitrary. Conventional weapons like bombs and bullets have caused far more destruction than so-called WMD over the years.

And do you have any idea how ridiculous it is for the US to preach nuclear nonproliferation to other countries? The US is more responsible for the proliferation of nuclear weapons than any other political entity in the world. The US is the only political entity that has used nuclear weapons against another country. And they deliberately dropped them on civilians! The chutzpah of the US in regards to nuclear weaponry is mind boggling!

Yeah what is irrelevant is your tirade on Trump. As if you haven't noticed he isn't saying a whole hell of a lot about this.

Are you trying to argue that the only way to change a border is through violence?

Yes I do. We are the freest and most moral country to ever exist on the planet. Whatever moral weakness our leaders and the fools that support them possess, the ideal principles the Age of Enlightenment, Capitalism, and Individual Rights, severely limit the government's use of the gun. It is the first nation to limit the power of government in preference to the liberty of its citizens. These principles in a mere two hundred years took Man from the hovel and filth of living in a feudal agrarian Dark Ages to the penthouse on the tallest buildings, satellites in space, commercial jets soaring through the sky, computers and HD TV in every home, and cruise vacations in the Caribbean. And we did to make sure the dictators in the world fail, big time.

You seem to have a personal animosity, did Putin kick you out of Russia? Was it tax evasion? :confuse:

Iraq's president Sadam Hussein said he tipped his chemical weapons
out in the desert. He could not tell exactly where they were tipped.
And he wasn't going to have UN inspectors rooting through his
    armory searching for them.
So yeah, most people, even the Russians, did safely assume he still
had WMD's. A common suspicion is that Hussein trucked them into
Syria as this was caught on satellite. And Syria did use, and still uses,
    chemical weapons.
Frankly we can't stop chemical weapons - therefor maybe every
nation should just start stockpiling them.

US position on nukes is that the fewer nations have them, the better.
Frankly, every country should have them. We were once squeamish
about guns in the middle ages, and machine guns in the 19th Century.

Usually yes, that how it happens. Your expanded border is someone
    else's contracted border.

If you're referring to the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, I confess my guilt. But If you mean the rebranding of Putin and his part in the Ukrainian conflict as that of an honest broker trying to stave off NATO encroachment, no.

Hey, I knew Saddam didn't have WMD. I didn't feel it was possible for him to develop them in such a short time. He was being watched all the time. But then again maybe it's my sixth sense.

I knew Bush was getting upset about the American planes and how they were being harassed, and frankly I assumed it was the reason we went to war - but not for the WMD.

I voted for Bush thinking he had different standards. His father said he was surprised with Cheney and that when he knew him he was a different man. He also said he believes the influence on his son was through the woman - so I'm going to render a guess here. I think it was Cheney's wife and her association with Victorial Nuland. Her husband Robert Kagan and his family are well known neo cons.

George Bush had prided himself that as Governor of Texas he could work with others to form policies. So taking that into account, I could see how he could be easily influenced.

I don't see NATO saying much. The Euros are in disarray and Trump isn't saying anything. Nor is Mattis. Nor Pompeo.

Of course the Lame Stream is too caught up in TDS to report on things.

That's debatable. Just as one example, the US has the largest prison population in the world. And most of the people in prison are there for nonviolent drug offenses. As another example, the US government is spying on the telecommunications of the entire country in a galling violation of our privacy rights. Really, I could go on and on.

You have a very rosy view of government power in America. It sounds more like mythology than truth.

In any case, you seem to forget that enlightenment era thinkers also had views on foreign policy and international relations, and that those views tended to favor a very restrained approach in foreign affairs. I highly doubt you are going to find a treatise from Adam Smith or John Locke advocating for "regime change" operations. And when you look at both the words and actions of the founders of America, you see that they strongly favored neutrality in foreign affairs. Put simply, the aggressive foreign policy you are now advocating is totally antithetically to the principles of the enlightenment which you claim to represent.

America is not the country it once was, when Americans fought a rebellion against an imperialist government. Now the US is the empire, taxing its citizens to death, lying about everything, and infringing on every legal and natural right we possess.

it wouldn't be surprising that Vlad the Invader should feel confident attacking the Ukraine since his bloated orange buddy has given his approval of Vlad's Crimean annexation

It makes no difference what people supposedly thought. All that matters is that no "weapons of mass destruction" were found in Iraq, which means there was never any real proof of their existence. So the entire time the US government was going around shouting from the rooftops about "weapons of mass destruction", feigning certainty, they were just exaggerating to the point of lying. And now they're back with more lies about Russia and Syria and Iran. Shockingly, though, many people seem more than willing to believe these lies. I must admit, the ability of the political class to lie and get away with it again and again is pretty damn impressive!
