Inaccuracies about the stock market. Baffling statements about a closed GM plant. Stating you can call coronavirus the flu.
President Donald Trump on Friday continued the false and misleading claims that have become a part of White House briefings on coronavirus, wrapping up a week in which the number of confirmed cases across the country topped 100,000.

    https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/27/politics/fact-check-coronavirus-briefing/index.html

Wow, Trump is literally making things up.

Another Day featuring a Litany of Misinformation.

Trump might be well-advised to avoid these briefings altogether.

If all that he is going to do is spew misinformation and embarrass himself, he should leave these briefings to the Doctors and others (who actually possess a clue).

    Thoughts?

He just spent screwing around doing nothing except claiming everything was AOK, until he was forced to actually try to produce to save some lives by being forced to start to get masks, some breathing machines, some medicines.

But his selfishness has already got the ball rolling to watching a lot of Americans being left to be sick and dying whole he lied and ignored and tried to save his fame and pride and money while our medical infrastructure was being ignored and destroyed while he played jackoff to idiot with Fox News and Dr. Oz, ripoff guy who hawks bogus diet cures!

What an evil man Trump is!

agree. He is the last person one should listen to for accurate information. His so called press briefings are nothing but ramblings of incoherence and self adulation. and caustic comments to anyone who dissed him off .

    THAT is NOT leadership. ---OBVIOUSLY.

The various governors are doing the best they can........and showing the leadership that is so critical at the moment. It is entirely Trump's fault that the US is so far behind. If he hadn't being talking about silly hoaxes and fake news which made him look like a fool........ he could have demonstrated true leadership , for a crisis. Many people actually believe everything he says and that is at their own peril. He is just not capable........and this crisis is demonstrating that ever s o clearly. There are some good people that are professionals and providing the public he kind of information that they need. Sadly he has minimized this all along........and that is just avoiding reality. His buffoonery has left the people uninformed, and therefore disregarding the critical behavior changes necessary to combat this virus. There are some that still think it is fake news. That is nothing short of insanity. The protocols of physical distancing, hand washing, self isolation.........are critical to curb this destructive virus. it will not last indefinitely........

He is a narcissistic sociopath who only cares about himself.........and sees himself as the center of the universe. His contact with reality is tenuous at best.............as he has demonstrated during this crisis. His incompetence is evident , he is psychologically unfit for the job.........He has to be right and the hero all the time.........and is far from it. It might sound a tad harsh.........but it is also the reality of the situation. That dos not cover the fact that his verbal style is deranged, incoherent and can get offensive. that is not the characteristic of a effective leader. He creates an atmosphere of fear as he is totally unpredictable. ( psychologically unstable )

What matters to him is MONEY and POWER.

At least he wasn't governor over a State with a major traveling hub and didn't bother to shut it down until last weekend.
The whole world knows Cumou to be incompetent now. Any run he makes will have a Bloomberg spectacular failure. His political career for all intents and purposes is finished.

Please don't try yo blame it on Cuomo! He has been a decent politician trying to do the best he could to do! Trying to get supplies, respirators and so much while Trump was refusing to use his Presidential power to get help for the American people!

This "traveling hub" is national and international.

That makes it ONLY the purview of Trump, not Cuomo. It would not even be legal for Cuomo to intervene with interstate or world travel.

And Trump was still claiming that things were going to be AOK and everyone could go to Church in a week and a half or 2.

    Donald Trump a week ago!

It is Trump who is working to kill Americans, not the governors who are trying to save us!

You mean...the ventilators that NY had in stock? Why should NY and NY alone have all of the ventilators when every Hospital in the US is on deck?

    This comment is bogus.
With Trump in charge, very few ventilators were "in stock"!

Trump set up the system so most stock ventilators were available based on money. This allows the billionaires and wealthy could get them, or maybe even Countries like wealthiest oil countries, where Trump can manipulate money and his beloved "favors" to get him and his family to get the most goodies!

There is NO REASON for him to allocate these precious commodities other than for his personal greed and power!

Yesterday Trump lied about ventilators and NY in his briefing.

Cuomo has STATED your concern about multiple states. THAT is why he has wanted federal level action to both create and allocate ventilators at a rate that will solve the need in America.

He and other governors have pointed out that they have found themselves bidding against FEMA for ventilators - not just other states.

Another set of lies by Trump in the briefing yesterday surrounds his failure to marshall US manufacturing capability to build vents.

Yet, he had time to yell at GM when GM was actually working on the problem voluntarily!!

Yesterday Trump castigated GM for not using their Lordstown plant - when Trump praised GM for SELLING that plant 10 months ago!

This president does NOT have his act together in ANY way. He ignores medical science, he has refused to use the the $2T slush fund to aid businesses that switch to building ventilators. He flip flops on what people should be doing - somtimes saying he'll open business by Easter and other times saying he'll lock down states - when he doesn't have the power to do either.

Trump is a full blown trainwreck.

I thought people wanted a national plan. And frankly, NY does need to be locked down, politics irrespective. It continues to be ground zero of our predicament.

We are not getting anything remotely similar to a national plan.

And, Trump's backtrack was required because he popped off before even knowing the legal liimits of his office.

Plans come from serious work including numerous factors and consultation of experts. It does NOT come from one guy reacting to something he heard.

If New Yorkers can continue to roam about the country, indefinitely then it'll never end. This isn't about politics, it's about containment. If Cumou isn't going to fulfill the task, then the President of the United States or somebody has to step in and keep the virus from spreading in-house.

Frankly, I think all discretionary travel needs to be slowed significantly.

Have you sen the pictures of Florida beaches during "spring breadk"?

We here in Seattle have UW students returning from spring break with COVID they got in Florida and other places where this nonsense goes on.

NY should probably do more. There may be questions involvig the fac that some in NYC have personal residences outside the city. Telling people they can't go to their home could be problematic - not sure.

Anyway, all this kind of travel should be seriously slowed. And, Trump has been downplaying the importance of COVID by suggesting we'll be back to work by Easter, as well as not effectively countering the general perception that not being in an "at risk" age group means you can igore measures.

But, having the president order draconian and illegal action for one state where he absolutely hates the governor is not going to be seen by the people as being legit. And, this isn't just a one-state problem.

Pence, CDC and other experts need to be working with governors - which Trump has ORDERED not to happen!!

He hasn't ordered any such thing. Trump instead said he wouldn't personally call. Think of it as the karma for three years. Everyone knew Trump was the "outside candidate" turned President. Remember when Sanders talked about how Congress would have to step in?

How disappointing in reality, when they can't even be bothered to "step in" like they thought they were going to do. Hatred of the human being known as Donald Trump backfired right back, as Trump finally said "two can play at that game." Why should Trump 'help' his political opponents? Patriotic? Where was that patriotism towards him?

This whole incident should show us why we should be generally good to others, and what happens when we're not. When you need them(after abusing them) don't expect them to show up.

Trump said the coronavirus was "very well under control" on February 25 and that "the people are getting better, they're all getting better!"

Responsible and responsive leadership taking the advice of epidemiological experts - as demonstrated by South Korea that identified its first case on the same day as the U.S. - would have prevented the U.S. from becoming the global epicenter of the pandemic. On March 6, Trump falsely insisted, "Anybody who wants a test gets a test!" If that had been true, it would have identified the geographical hot spots sooner, and isolated them more effectively.

(The day before Trump lied about it, Pence had admitted, “We don’t have enough tests today to meet what we anticipate will be the demand going forward.” ).

Yes, he said he wouldn't call. But, he also ordered Pence not to call. You can find this online with an easy search.

Punishing my state by reducing support is NOT "karma" - it's a direct assault on our wellbeing as American citizens.

He is personalizing this - he demands that we show more "appreciation" to him persoally!!

Why should Trump help his political opponets??? You have to ASK that ???

    I am an American.

Having my president threaten my life because I don't praise him enough is ACCEPTABLE to you???

I don't even know how to describe how disgusting that is.

And yet, the US is doing much better than Europe with regard to the virus.

    How do you explain that?

What, did you think COVID travels at the speed of light?

It took a little while for the pandemic to cross the 3000 miles to the USA.

Don't worry, though, the pandemic is here now and we are catching up FAST!

In about a week with less supplies and support per capita than Europe or China! The USA will be MAGA, thanks to Presiden Trump!

So, Trump likes de Blasio for no reason other than that de Blasio is in Cuomo land and he hates Cuomo and de Blasio agreed with Trump on something.

You need to get off the soap operas.

Our disaster response can NOT be based on who praises Trump.

Even with the limited data we had, NY was clearly one of the big spots(it's called projections.) There was enough preliminary data(and common sense) to suggest NY should be walled off. Unfortunately, to defeat Trump common sense need not apply. At the risk to all of us.

You now have governors attempting to restrict medical treatments. We've seen dark days in America since the Coronavirus.
