So you make post after post about how horrible FL is handling things and when someone mentions again how other large states are worse, like CA, your answer is NOT comparable? Well, that’s freaking convenient

Regarding illegals, someone else was trying to help CA with that problem and you soar in his face. And besides, all I hear is how great illegals are for the economy and well being of our country. Now they’re a detriment? Woah, so convenient again

 

Wont have to move to California. At the rate which anti-masker/vaxxers are pissing people off in Florida this state will turn blue soon enough. Like you said, people are fleeing places like CA and FL/TX are where they go. But they don't exactly change their politics now do they? Yes, in a dynamic of communicability population density matters and therefore making comparisons between two places with vastly different densities is useless. California is 3 times the land mass of Florida with 80 of 100 cities 200K and less in population so you can stop with all the density excuses. Their mask, business, and travel mandates were the toughest in the nation and they still have 6 times more infections than Florida proving your paper mask and isolation protocols don't work. At some stage everyone in the US will get Covid and there is no way to stop it.

Virginia has 625K cases with 8.5 million people
Maryland 448K cases with 6 million people
Iowa, Arkansas, and Nevada have over 350K cases each with 3 million populations
Oklahoma has 460K cases with only 4 million population

Funny how nobody is crying about those states that have double and triple infection rates than Florida. Are they.

They have, and for just cause. Because while other states are trying to slow the spread MoRon DeathSantis is doing everything he can to turbocharge it - and its working. So don't try to sell me on inconsequential comparisons with other states. Its like Democrats trying to make excuses for doing everything they can to enable murderers by pointing out that murder happens in red states too.

 

You cant know they aren't doing anything because we don't have a parallel America to use as a control group. All we can know is that w/o mitigation things do get worse. Inversely if Florida actually applied some mitigation thins there would get better. But in general blame the user not the tool. Despite mandates for things like masks and shutdowns, not everyone is complying. People not participating or not doing it right, lawless sheriffs not enforcing, businesses not enforcing, and whatnot. The tools are fine, the users are screwing things up.

People who are vaccinated can get it but..

1. They are far less likely to get it than someone who is unvaccinated
2.They are less contagious if they do catch than someone who is unvaccinated who catches it
and 3. Their symptoms are far less severe than they would be if they were unvaccinated

Over 95% of people hospitalized for COVID, and over 99% of people who die from COVID are unvaccinated

 

So wheres that 4x cases against 1/4 of the population?
