I would love to see 8 in the playoffs, then have #9-25 play a bowl game of some sort. If you aren't top 25, you aren't deserved of a bowl game.

    This year, you'd have (currently)
    1 Florida State
    2 Ohio State
    3 Auburn
    4 Alabama
    5 Missouri
    6 Oklahoma State
    7 Stanford
    8 South Carolina

    and Baylor looking in....

    1 vs 8
    2 vs 7
    3 vs 6
    4 vs 5

and let them play it out.

but the 9- 25 get bowl games that their schools can still get money for. That's Baylor - LSU

I'd rather the debate be over 8-9 than 2-3 like this year. Or even between 4-5 next year.

It's very close, but I have watched this gif several times and it appears to me his heel hovers over the out of bounds but never actually touches the surface of the field. It is close, but honestly, creating a petition?

Get a life Alabama fans, seriously, the St. Louis Cardinals lost a World Series in 1985 because of a bad call by an umpire, some folks still talk about it.

Their self-identity is wrapped up in sports team. Even if he stepped out of bounds it's a done deal, they will not replay the game...it's done n' dusted and in the record books. Alabama has won 2 consecutive national championships, how many schools would just like to be contenders?

    Greed...greed...greed.

Yep... in the over and over replays of the run back the common taters agreed with you and stated that in that step, the heel did NOT touch the ground.

It looks inbounds to me, but it is amazing how he could run so close to the line without touching it.

There isn't overwhelming evidence to over turn the original decision to allow the TD. Yet, there's a petition on-line started by Alabama fans appealing to negate the TD forcing an OT re-match as though the TD never happened. It is absolutely sore losers who do this sort of thing. The Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series...my home team. Did it hurt? yes, but Boston was the better team and congratulations to them as well as their fans. The Cardinals have won several World Series in my lifetime and I'm still thankful and even glad when another team gets a chance and their fans get to experience what I already experienced.

I see this phenonemon all the time, where someone's literal self-esteem is rooted in a sports team. The team I like lost, well I must be a loser too, I can only be a winner if my team wins. It's messed up, these folks are seriously messed up psychologically and it's rooted in very low self-esteem...self-worth has no merits on it's own it must be attached to some outside entity that we perceive will make us winners if only we identify with them.

Sports should be a diversion, not a life-style.

The folks creating this petition and signing it = sore losers...

    plain and simple

I agree. Even as close as it was, I don't see any evidence for overturning it.

I almost WISH he had stepped out of bounds and the refs missed the call. My area is so innundated with fair weather Bama fans, and SEC sack-riding Florida gaytor fans (who were fair weather fans back during the Tebow years) who cheer for bama when they have a crappy season so they can say "SEC has won xxx straight titles, therefore, our 4-8 season isn't that bad) I enjoy watching their heads pop.

Some Alabama fans must like the image of ignorant, uneducated rednecks. I have talked to a few Bama fans that are ashamed of the way the fans behave. If they are not carefull they are going to lose (arguably) the best coach in college football.

I have even heard there were death threats against the field goal kicker. One fan wanted him to"drink bleach and die".

Consider this...if FSU by some miracle loses against Duke and Ohio State loses against Michigan State you could have the Iron Bowl all over again.

I've just sat here watching that vid loop for a couple of minutes. I've yet to find a Ref on that sideline that could have called the runner out of bounds though it's obvious he never was. Like pol meister above says, no overwhelming evidence. But...

This run back was one moment out of time. Consider all the bone head mistakes athletes make which may result in a loss... AND I'm not criticizing their efforts in any way. But this guy caught up in a moment and took everybody by surprise, probably including the Refs. And that moment took this guy from one end of the field to the other, untouched. Where is Howard Cosell when you need him...

    Just effing glorious

And like the mistakes some guys might make, this is something Auburn #11 will have to live with for the rest of his life.

sometimes the camera angles don't show the refs.... there was one signallying td on the AU sideline (the same sideline that the run was down) so he was probably in front of the play just out of camera view because it was zoomed in on the runner.

remember, there are two refs UNDER the goal initially to signal good or no good.... they then are playing catchup to a very fast runner..... I have no question they were where they were supposed to be on a play that noone expected

you've lost me.... AU #11 won the game.... why will he "have to live with that" you do realize, he wasn't ruled out of bounds don't you? You realize he won the game don't you?

this is something that EVERY football player dreams about doing the moment they strap the pads on the first time in youth league.... There's no "have to" on AU's side....

    now.... the BAMA kicker???????

This is why, if I have a son, who aspires to be a kicker, I would hope he focuses on PUNTING as opposed to FG kicking. The punter has NEVER recieved death threats for having his punt blocked for the game winning td.... and his scholarship is just as significant as the fg kicker....

That had to be a sick feeling for Alabama fans and players losing a game like that. We will probably go the rest of our lives and not see a game end like that again.

I didn't think there was going to be a charge other than it's Willie Meggs trying to make a name for himself again....

I can't link the tweets to here, but their ewere reporters asking and meggs responses tweeted back screams what I was thinking.... much more than what was being told, which is what kills me about rape accusations.

Meggs says there is no consideration of charging the woman with false report

One of her claims was she was drunk and impaired at the time. Her BAC tested .04 and no drugs in her system

Meggs said there were numerous people in the room where the even occurred

When asked if there was sex with more than one male... Meggs said "that would be a logical conclusion

The holdup in the case was identifying the 2nd male's DNA that was found in the DNA rape kit

Accuser knew the other male, but not Winston (explains why it took a month to name Winston)

Meggs says the case is closed

The accuser said she also had sex with her b/f

The accuser's b/f would not speak with the D.A. but the did get, and match his DNA with that of the 2nd male's DNA

It looks like Florida State and Auburn will be going to the big dance.

    Should be a good game.

    it's what they want....

what I see is a great SEC defense going to squash their opponent.... of course, the only team with a "elite SEC defense" is FSU... lol

how I see it... our offense is good.... when Jameis settles down... he is hard to stop.... However, that said.... our DEFENSE is what will win our title. Boston College scored a lot on us... but that's it.... Every other team, including BCS bound Clemson, have only scored about 14

meanwhile... AU got torched regularly for 30 points in a winning effort... and not by "good" teams.... by 4 loss GA, by 3 loss LSU, by Mizzou.... Our offense is better than Texas A+M, GA, Mizzou, LSU, but our defense won't give up 30 + points.

well, until bowl games start... the only thing to talk about is the Heisman....

is there really any chance it's not Jameis Winston at this point? I mean, he's putting up numbers and not even playing the entire game for 5 of them, including @ #3 Clemson

He handled his rivalry games.... EASILY
    won his conference.... EASILY
    the team is undefeated

None of those, individually matters... but as an entire picture... it does

Manziel has looked like he's been "phoning it in" and protecting his NFL draft stock ever since his loss to Bama.
Jordan Lynch puts up bigger numbers but NIU is not a great team, plus they lost
McCarron I think is a #2 pick. Very good player, but played a conference that had one decent team of AU in it.
