Frightening! Three Masked Teens with Guns Shot Dead by Homeowner in GA w/ AR-15

Sadly this is not the first time where more than a standard x6 wheel gun or x10 round mag is called for - if not imperative in some circumstances. I'm reminded of another incident in GA where a mom with two children hiding in a crawl space was able to land 5 out of her 6 shots in the attackers face & neck region w/o killing him - left with hammer clicks landing on the spent brass in the cylinder of her 38; fortunately they lived to tell about the horror of the empty revolver...

It really is audacious of people to retort with 'what is the likelihood / the chances are so slim that it'll happen to you' BS! I want my loved ones to have the best chance of success in securing their safety, protecting innocent life - period. In the end though the 2A is only secondarily about personal protection. The whole point of the 2A is a safeguard against the slippery slope of gov. overreach galvanizing into tyranny. In my neck of the woods, when the cops finally showed up minutes after everything was over, they'd say that was some good shootin'.

Show me the DNC policy that states that all guns should be confiscated. If that can't be done, then someone who says it must be very uninformed or malignantly motivated.

 

Call me when the great majority of gun fights are at distances of more than 8 to 10 feet.

 

Sometimes the left goes for the whole enchilada, other times they want to nibble away at it until it's all gone.

If the left banned 'assault rifles' (which they can't describe) then they'll go after the next firearm that scares them. You know it, I know it, the NRA certainly knows it, and the entire galaxy knows it.

 

You got any stats on that? I would say the drive by shooting by your pals occur at more than 10 feet.

As a guy who grew up in an old fashion Italian/Catholic family, I would be ashamed that any family member of mine wore a mask, carried a gun and shot at my neighbors while trying to rob them. Dishonoring the family was strongly frowned upon.

But times are different these days, the innocent family who were the intended victims and fended off the attack probably havent seen the end of this new and deadly feud that won't end until the other family gets complete revenge.

Edit: For the most part their questions are reasonable, but the one that makes me wonder about their motives is their question about why the neighbors were outside that early in the morning. Why they were out there has nothing to do with anything.

I don't have any stats on gun fights in crawl spaces, but I'd guess there aren't that many of them. And yes, if I happen to get into a gun fight in a crawl space I'd want a hand gun with as many rounds as it will hold.

As per the BS about 'what are the chances' / 'most occur at this or that' - As per the OP, I want every advantage in a gun fight! I don't want it to be 'fair'; I want to have the deck stacked in my favor overwhelmingly.

Sounds like a good outcome, the Gun toting delinquents shooting at and robbing these people are Dead as it should be. I'm sure the family of these creeps are spoutin off about how they had dreams of becoming Doctors or running for President some day, but we all know the only future for them was a stay at the State Penitentiary for murdering a victim of their criminal behavior. Good thing these Punks were lousy shots and the Hero had an AR-15

 

Who cares about stats. We don’t make important decisions based on averages. We choose what’s best for individuals.

I can’t think of a better option for a mother in a crawl space than an AR with a red dot. Some women have a hard time manipulating the slide of semi automatic handguns. Some don’t. Some women are more comfortable with the recoil of a carbine than a handgun.

I just don’t think we can decide for others what firearm is best for them. Everyone is too unique in physical build and personality.

Telling a woman what she needs is likely more dangerous than going up against three armed attackers with nothing but a dozen medium free range eggs.

 

Umm... pardon me, Who the hell is going to have the audacity to tell me what is enough or too much for defending me & mine, in a worst case scenario...! Certainly not U Starkey - shame on U for trying, lol... Reminds me of one of the SCOTUS testimonies used in a case a while back regarding an older woman who was dialing / on the phone w/ her left hand while effectively using her right hand/arm to shoot back with her AR (expending her 30 round mag. btw). I forget what happened to the x 3 who broke into her attached porch; perhaps some of y'all recall this; SCOTUS sure found it pertinent to the hi-cap debate...

I can tell you that your choice of weapon for a crawl space is wrong and more likely to get you hurt or killed.

You have never fired a weapon indoors, or in a collapsed building, or in a tunnel, or in a sewer fight.

But by all means don't listen to solid advice.

 

How about the laws passed in Washington D.C. and Chicago that President Obama supported, which did not allow U.S. Citizens to have revolvers in their own houses? You know, the laws which were destroyed by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Heller decision.

 

Or perhaps U are correct & we should all be this proficient before being deigned allowance to be armed by U & the powers that be... The notion of the gun being the 'great equalizer' exponentially more imperative the weaker, more vulnerable & less proficient one is - must be a misconception of the ages. Glad that we 'cleared' that one up...
