Moses, Elijah, Jesus, Peter and Paul performed miracles to prove their authority to speak for God.

Did Mohammed ever perform a miracle to prove his authority?

He split the moon. With the help of Allah SWT.

Allah SWT also made animals protect Muhammad SAW when he was being chased by Kuffar. Muhammad SAW ran into a cave, and the spider made a web around the entrance. It fooled the Kuffar.

But the biggest miracle is the Quran, which Allah SWT used him to share with all of humanity. Allah SWT chose him to give the Quran, and he went from an illiterate merchant to one of if not the most influential figures in history. His influence is still felt today...

Muhammad SAW managed to turn a small group of former Pagans into what we see today. Islam, being one of the largest religions on Earth and the fastest growing all around the world. It was because he made the sacrifices and struggles for the Muslims of his time.

There are also some battles that the Muslims won, which some say is thanks to divine help. Muhammad SAW led a group of 3000 Muslims to take on 100 000 (some say up to 200 000) army of the Byzantine Empire and all but 12 men lived through it.

    Subhanallah :)

All that a Muslim accomplishes, we say alhamdulillah or praise Allah SWT. So whatever "miracles" Muhammad SAW did, was thanks to Allah SWT.

Did he repair the moon afterwards? Cause it's not split now.

    I'll get into that.

    A good start: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splitting_of_the_moon

    There is also this: http://www.jafariyanews.com/2k8_news/march/22moon_crack.htm

And I'll end off with a video:

Another report says the cracks (there are many) are due to the moon shrinking due to cooling. The radius has shrunk about 100 meters.

The cracks are not in line either but scattered.

I looked at your links earlier. Lots of hand waving.

I think if mohamed split the moon he would have had half of it crash into the earth and kill everyone except mo and his bros. Sort of like the ultimate jihad.

'Splitting the moon' is just as silly as claiming Jesus parted the red seas. If you find one silly you have to find the other one silly, too.

Only if you think Mohammed and Jesus are equal.

Whether they are 'equal' or not doesn't matter. None of them had magic powers to do anything.

It is very silly to say Jesus PBUH split the red sea ;)

There seems to be evidence of this. Modern evidence. So, it's not as silly as it sounds ;)

Muslims believe both of them, along with Moses PBUH (and many other Prophets) were messengers of God. Equal, they were given messenges from God to share with humanity.

    Moses given the Torah.
    Jesus given the Bible.
    Muhammad given the Quran.

Peace and blessing upon all of them.

    Two things...
    1. It was Moses, not Jesus (PBUT).

    2. It wasn't Moses PBUH actually splitting it himself. If was Allah SWT, doing it for him. Nothing is impossible for Allah SWT.

Of course to an atheist that means nothing, I realize that.

Actually, the parting of the seas has been proven possible. If a strong enough wind is blowing at a certain angle, it can literally part water. It's been done with wind machines in pools.

Signs and miracles required in the ancient Near East.. Magicians were a dime a dozen.. How else do you get the attention of a primitive?

The claim of finding chariots in the Red Sea is the lie of charlatan Ron Wyatt.

He also claimed to have found the Ark of the Covenant but he ran out of film..

The Exodus story is a metaphor for redemption.. Leaving "slavery" in Egypt was about leaving the bondage of ignorance of God.. Crossing water (Yam Suf) is about leaving chaos..Yam being a Ugarite god of rivers and seas....

Monotheism wasn't fixed.... the people reverted to worshipping a golden calf.. and trusting in a bronze snake.. Its a tale of transition from paganism.

Where are you finding that this is false?

Margo--I like your posts most of the time, but I find that you make sweeping statements without any effort to support them. Please link to something that discredits the chariot and bones issue and supports your unique interpretations. Otherwise, you're just another voice amid the cacophony of nonsense on the internet.

Ron Wyatt was a con artist who pulled off dozens of scams.

He found the blood of Christ, Noah's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, Pharaoh's chariots.

    Nothing unique about "my" interpretation..

I understand the man's credibility is questioned, but it is merely questioned--not proved dishonest especially concerning the geological features of the Red Sea and the pillars from either side of the proposed crossing. The issue is not proved "factual"--but neither is it proved a hoax--nor is the guy revealed to be a "charlatan" or a liar as you claim. His methods, ideed are questionable, and his conclusions often are leaps of faith--but nonetheless--there are evidences to consider. UNLIKE the "split moon miracle" (which is the focus of the thread and why I put up the Snopes link).
