you can get the overall meaning by translation.

but sometimes in specific matters you can't.
best way perhaps is to read comparatively between
various translations by checking tafseers.

but unless you read it in arabic you cannot grasp the
linguistic beauty of the qur'an.

in arabic this verse is very beautiful and the meaning
is slightly different (way more comprehensive).
for example; since they couldn't translate the word taghut,
they put it as it is. you do need a one page elaboration for
some words and expressions to grasp the meaning.

I don't believe Jesus needed it, so why did Muhammad need it? but then I don't believe in any religion, so I don't really know if sex with an underage female is neccessary if you are a religious person.
