the call was bad, but, had the person cooperated with police when they came, would of went a lot smother... you can't just slam the door in the police's face and expect things to go well

Is slamming the door on police illegal? Does the Constitution give the government unlimited powers to kick down slammed doors?

felons that have served their time should have all their rights, free speech, freedom of religion, freedom to own a gun to protect their families, freedoms to vote, the list goes on - these are rights, not privileges

you want to punish people longer, then sentence them longer, simple

when you have to have the privilege to have a right, it's no longer a right, it's a privilege

Typical "swatting" case. The caller was playing a game hoping that the cops would kill the man. Thug cops being thug cops with IQs of 10 were ready and willing the blast the guy.

Race bait and then continue to move the goal posts with strawmen when the race baiting is called out..

Good to see somethings never change.

recordings of that kind are only a fraction of the "evidence" presented in court

Yes, when you admitted you'd do it every time you saw anyone with a gun, and regardless of it being suspicious or not, regardless of seeing a gun or not.

If the forum does it's job, you will be reported to law enforcement for your statement.

if it doesn't, it's all on record.

I can arbitrarily find anyone to be “suspicious”.

You don't need to explain it to me. Your post is self-evident.

Cop lovers would defend the cops if the thug cops blasted their own mothers.

The police cannot prove an arbitrary abstract like “I found that suspicious”.

Or I say nothing and refuse to cooperate in anyway.

Don’t worry, the cops will lie anyways.

With how often they pull the race card, it puts minorities in a worse position. It's the boy who cried wolf times a million.

Gee, most of the people in my office think I'm a Jew commie lover. I'm actually an Episcopalian and don't know any commies.

But if you ever answer the door in undies and latex gloves, and its the cops, don't slam the door in their faces. LOL

At the 0:36 minute mark, the suspect admitted that he was well "versed in this. I've done time."

He just admitted that he has a criminal record and therefore that makes him a prohibited person.

So, what is this thread about?

I care less about their racism than I do about them showing up and kicking in someone’s door because they got a call that someone had a gun in their own home.

You're wandering into the bleachers. The issue at hand is did the cops reasonably believe by the totality of the circumstances that they had to open the door for him to insure safety.

    1) “The caller told us they believed the male to be in a violent dispute with a female and was making threats to her,” police said. “The caller then specified the apartment this was taking place in. The caller then said they could hear banging on their door and walls and said they were afraid for their safety.”

    2) When officers arrived at the scene, they knocked on the door of the apartment described by the caller. A person inside answered the door while wearing underwear and latex gloves, refused to answer questions and slammed the door shut, police said.

    3) “Fearing for the female’s safety, officers forced entry. The purpose was to check and see if the female was injured or needing assistance,” police said. “In emergency situations such as this, officers are not required to have a search warrant if they have a reasonable belief that a person may be in immediate danger.”

So it all hinges on the 911 recording. If the caller said what the cops say, they were justified. If not they weren't.
